It is incomprehensible to think that dogs and cats are being stolen and sold for meat in China, but it is happening.
We became aware of this barbaric act through the DuoDuo Animal Welfare Project, an international organization founded in part by a great lady named Martha, a non-profit lawyer who generously donated hours of her time to help the Tripawds Foundation become a reality. Martha’s own dog DuoDuo was freed from the cruel dog meat trade and in their honor, as well as the millions of cats and dogs who meet this cruel fate, we are spreading the word to help stop this horror, which includes the Yulin Dog Meat Festival.
Rally on 2/19 to End China’s Dog and Cat Meat Trade
Tomorrow, February 19, is the Global Rally to End China’s Dog and Cat Meat Trade. The event is timed to coincide a couple of weeks before the National People’s Congress (NPC), the supreme organ of state power in China, as they convene for their annual meeting. During that meeting, the representatives meet to discuss bills presented for evaluation. A strong message must be sent from abroad to show international support for Chinese animal activists and enforcement and the adoption of laws protecting pets.
If you are near San Francisco, hop over to Facebook to find out rally details. To get the message out online, join the Twitterstorm on 2/19 and spread awareness:
Please follow along with Duo Duo, and the DuoDuo Animal Welfare Project on Facebook and Twitter.
