Tripawd Tuesday: Toby T’s Livin’ the Good Life Now!

You never know what you’ll discover when you go on vacation. In today’s Tripawd Tuesday feature about a cutie named Toby T, check out what happened when a Canadian from Alberta took a chance on a very special three-legged dog.

Let’s Celebrate Rescue Dogs with Toby T on Tripawd Tuesday!

“It is great to have a Tripawd community!” says Toby’s mom Lindsey. We couldn’t agree more, and hope that more people will do what she did. Take a leap of faith and adopt a three-legged dog from a local rescue or animal shelter.

As you can see below, Toby’s living the dream life all dogs deserve regardless of the number of legs they have!

How old is your Tripawd?

  • 2 years

Did you adopt a Tripawd? Tell us more!

  • I adopted Toby from the Sula society in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico . He was hurt and lost his leg while in care at the rescue. I saw his sweet face online and knew I wanted to love him.
  • It was quite a journey to get him home! Due to heat embargos he couldn’t fly to Canada so he and another dog flew to Seattle where I picked them up. We made the drive home in a day.
  • It has been almost one year since Toby came home and I couldn’t love him more ❤️

What are your Tripawd’s favorite things to do?

  • Run ! Snuggle, and eat treats !

Is there any special gear that helped or helps your Tripawd?

  • I had all kinds of modifications ready for my little Tripawd but he is as quick as a bunny and can jump like one too!

Toby never thought he would be here now!

What is the biggest lesson you learned from your Tripawd?

  • I learned to be cautious but not to underestimate him. He adapted to three legs amazingly and is very mobile. I worry about him getting hurt but he sure doesn’t. He can keep up with the pack!

What is your best advice to someone who is thinking of adopting a Tripawd?

  • In an adoption sense – do it ! Tripawds adapt amazingly and their resilience is precious. They are as sweet, active, and loving as any four legged pet. There can be some medical expenses associated but from my experience – no more so than a ‘regular ‘ pet also has.
