Tripawd Tuesday: Dozer Needs a Home

Today on Tripawd Tuesday we’re showcasing Dozer (aka Jiminy Cricket), a lovable 8-month old German Shepherd pup in need of a forever home. This special Tripawd is currently being cared for by a friend of the Tripawds Nation in San Antonio, Texas. She says:

Dozer is one cool dog.  He is housebroken, crate trained, and does quite well on a leash.  He knows sit, stay and lay down. (The last two are his newest commands, so he’s still working on them sometimes.) He gets along great with other dogs and is also doing well around horses.  I don’t have a cat, but he’s been around cats a couple of times and did well.

He likes to ride in the car, and go on outings. Dozer is a little over 8 months old. Still a pup, he is very laid back (I don’t say that about every pup). Dozer has even been on a local television show prior to Halloween. Other guests included zombies, scary clowns, etc. Dozer was not bothered by them.

He does wonderful in crowds, with groups of children, and meeting new dogs. I had him evaluated by a trainer who said he’d make a great therapy dog. He learns quickly and is eager to please. He’s always looking to me for his cue. He will sit when I feed him and (usually) wait for my cue to eat. He also will sit at the door and wait to be invited in. He learned that so fast – partly from watching my dogs. Dozer comes when called, wanting only to make you happy.  This is one of those dogs – one of those once in a lifetime dogs.

Dozer would be a great dog for a young boy or girl to grow up with – that bestest furry friend we all deserve to have – the one that follows us everywhere, loves us unconditionally and keeps all our secrets. He’ll lay at your feet when you’re quiet or run along as you play in the yard. He’s THAT dog.

Please, share Dozer with your friends. He is a very special dog. Fun-loving, happy, easy keeper, and a willing, quick learner. Oh, and he has promised he will grow into his ears and his feet!”

His rescue agency, Spay Neuter Inject Project of San Antonio (SNIPSA) says:

“Before he made his way into our care he was camped at Animal Care Services with a badly hurt leg that had to be amputated. He is now completely healed and running around like crazy! Don’t let this one get away from you – fill out an application today!”

It’s hard to believe that Dozer is still available for adoption. Please help him find a home by sharing this post with everyone you know with this shortlink:  http://wp.me/pcAJ7-2n0

Thanks!
