Tripawd Tuesday Featuring Stella

Welcome to Tripawd Tuesday! A big three-paws up to everyone who shared their three-legged hero’s story last week. All of them were terrific! Thanks to the list randomizer at we were spared the agony of choosing just one Tripawd to feature.

This week’s Tripawd Tuesday story is Stella, a Great Dane girl from Colorado.

We hope you enjoy reading about her inspawrational life on three legs.

Stella was hit by a car at age five months. She had a severely broken femur and crushed pelvis. After two weeks of inaction, her owner was going to shoot her when a family member stepped in and took her to the Durango Animal Hospital. A vet tech contacted the Rocky Mountain Great Dane Rescue group to see if they could save her. A RMGDR volunteer rushed to meet the tech (in the middle of the night) to get Stella to safety and arranged for her surgery.

We adopted Stella in August 2004. She is a happy, active, very sweet dog — truly a great Dane.

Remember, all Tripawds around the world are welcome to participate in Tripawd Tuesdsay.
