It has been 6 months since Tazzie's amputation so earlier this week she went in for xrays, bloodwork, and urine. I have tried to post this several times but keep getting error messages so I will keep it short.
Chest and leg xrays were clear (no mets) YAY!
Bloodwork normal.
Bladder infection (Pseudomonas, a bad bug) so I had to stop the Cytoxan. This can lead to a painful and bloody urine condition in some dogs. I will continue the Metacam and up the artemisinin to 300 mg every night.
She has gained 15 pounds so someone is on a diet and less cheese with her pills!
I am so glad that Tazzie continues to do well, but even if we had found lung mets I would still not regret our decision to amputate. She is so happy and playful, and still greets us with that big Mastiff smile every day.

That is so encouraging! I watched one of her videos last week on this site..it's amazing to see such a big dog move so well on three legs.
I love OEMs, and have looked through Mastiff rescue locally...but can't imagine doing agility with one (although I have an agility friend with a Dane who does pretty well.) Maybe one day. Give Tazzie's big squooshy face a kiss from me!
Keep up the good work Pam & Tazzie. That's an awesome report.

YEAH Tazzie!!
Pam - you have been such an enormous support and help to soooo many on Jerry's place...it's wonderful news that all is well with Tazzie girl.
Thank you for all you do - we would all be lost without you.

Wonderful News- Keep it up !!!!
I totally agree with your view on the lung mets- Even though we found them so soon- 2 months after amputation - I have absolutely no regrets on our decision to take the path we have- Wrigley has been and still is a very very happy pain free dog- and we have been able to enjoy this time with her. I wouldn't trade that for anything.
Ditto on Heather's note- we would be lost without you- you are a great support to all us Tripawds- I know there is a shout out post- but I don't think I could say it enough- thank you .
Tazzie- you go girl- we're proud of you!

Yay Tazzie!!!
Such wonderful news! I totally hear you on the weight gain issue, Nova's gained some weight after her amp (she was pretty skeletal to begin with). All the extra treats, canned food, and cheese to hide pills in are definitely the culprit.
Tazzie has been such a big inspiration to us, and Pam, well you are just the BEST! All your advice and support, given so freely to all us Tripawd pawrents, we are so lucky to have you.

YAY!! Good for you Tazzie!
Max and I are so glad you came through with flying colors! Max is on a little diet too....he is up to 80 lbs. Thats the most he has ever weighed! Only a little cheese with pills for him and no more canned food!
Thank you Pam for your advice and support. You are an invaluable resource for all of us and we greatly appreciate it. So glad you got good news with Tazzie.
Hugs from Max and me!

Yay Tazzie AND Dr Pam (you helped!) What good news!
Cemil joins the rest of you on the cut-back rations. With the fur shaved off, the fat was revealed. I had no idea.
Dr Pam, I too appreciate your willingness to share, and Cemil sends an Anatolian "lean". May the good reports continue!

Pam & Tazzie,
That is really a wonderful update!! Tazzie is in good hands. Thanks for sharing ... How about low fat cheese?
Dogs really love the cheese with their meds... sending a smile to both of you!
