Hi, all from Tasha. I have been doing well and keeping mom very busy. I've even got to swim twice now, which is nice of mom cause we have to drive a ways to a place I can swim. Love the ride, love the water. Everyone kept asking if I swam in a circle, silly people. heehee  I am now 3 months post amp. and ready for my 3rd round of chemo tomorrow. Other than a nasty bout of cystitis, been doing very well. Got to take a great antibiotic that is for big dogs, so I only had to take 2 once a day. It was much easier than last time. We had to do 5 capsules for 10 days and I got cranky about that pretty quick. Even the pill pockets were getting tiresome. But then I hate pills and I can spit farther than you would imagine. Mom can get them right down my throat now, so no more spitting. Darn!

The thing that has mom and my sweetheart vet puzzled is that I am getting lumps under my skin. I have three now. One is in the tissue of my hip, but not connected to the bone at all. The other 2 are on my belly and inner thigh, and they are right under the skin. Like a hard lima bean was inserted under the skin. Since I am getting chemo, we are gonna watch them to see if they get bigger, because the vet doesn't want to make any wounds right now that could get infected. Osteosarcoma doesn't usually present this way when it spreads, so everybody is stumped. I would have to be the odd egg. Anyone else encountered this?

The other thing mom is getting peeved about is that I have learned to sit down when she tries to stick that container under me for me to pee in. I won't go if she has it anywhere near her, and I can hold it for 14 hours cause I'm really stubborn. She wants to know if anyone has any good methods. You can tell her and I won't peek. The plastic ladle is a no go and now we are using a plastic container cut down to be shorter. We need 2 specimens with every chemo, before and after, and then sometimes in between since I had the infection. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Love and smiles, Tasha

I have a lump that my Doctor called a "fatty tumor" right next to where my leg used to be. They didn't even remove it during my operation because he said it is harmless. Since then I have started to develop another one on my other side. But these are supposedly normal in old dogs like me. Hopefully this is the case.

My people have never had to collect urine samples from me. Thank Dog! But they have heard about taping a dixie cup (or something larger?) to a broom stick. That way you don't have to get so close. Once the stream starts she then might be able to sneak it under you without being to obtrusive. Good luck with that! if you find a way that works, be sure to let everyone here know.

Sure would help if there was another person there to help out. Hope all is better by now. Remember, just like people, some dogs can be very private as well.
