Rocco came home today! His surgery got pushed to yesterday afternoon but the vet said he was so strong he was ready to come home today.
He's still a little doped up and the pain meds are surely helping him, but he looks and seems to be doing great! He's got a balance problem of course, but he's already willing to walk around the house and even went out to relieve himself with a little help. He's not sure of himself at the raised patio yet, but I'm pretty impressed he's up walking around and quickly getting back to his old self.
Today I've been humbled yet again by the strength, determination and lack of self pity from man's best friend. I'm so glad we made this decision and have bought some more time with our boy. I'll try to keep everyone posted on his progress and throw in a video down the road.
Thanks for all of your support here...without it, we couldn't have made the decision with such confidence and moved forward.
Ours will be a very Merry Christmas, we hope yours is too!
