So, Jack and I are in Sioux Falls, SD at the moment, and I've noticed a couple things lately...he's acting like a naughty little puppy.  I noticed after he first had his amputation that he would bark a bit more, but now, he's chasing EVERYTHING, barking, running then JUMPING in the air, and he tries to steal things from me.  Also, this morning at like 7am, he just decided it was time to get up and jumped off the bed and "boofed" at the door until I got up.  I don't mind that he's acting like a puppy (I mean I guess he's only 5...), but it's just kind of a shocker when he's been this lazy ball the past year and now all of a sudden he's acting like he has almost no manners.  Has anyone else had this problem?!?!?  When you correct him, he does listen (mostly), but he just never used to do things that needed correcting in the first place... Could it be that he just feels so much healthier?  I just hope he's not failing mentally.  GAH!  look at me...i'm worried that my dog has energy.  It's just such a change!!!

That's a good change in a way, I can see how it would indicate increased energy. Or maybe  he's secretly addicted to Puppy Uppers? Just kidding! Winker

Do you think that maybe he's been just a little spoiled since becoming a Tripawd? If so, Jack could pawsibly be taking advantage of your leniency. Hey, I would too! That doesn't make him a bad dog, just means that he's been living with more love and adoration lately, than boundaries and rules, and now he figures why not take advantage of the situation?

Even Tripawds need boundaries and rules. I would pick up where you left off with any training he's familiar with. We just got this pawesome book by animal behaviorist Sarah Wilson, <a href="
