Rowdy, 6.5 year old lab mix, diagnosed osteosarcoma 10/15, left forelimb amputation on 11/3 has recovered quite nicely from the procedure save one issue: peeing.
He seems to have trouble urinating and spends a lot of time out back trying to do so. He will then experience incontinence overnight, as we wake up to his t-shirt used to cover the incision and all bedding soaking wet with urine every morning.
We went back to the vet this morning and they suspect a UTI - but we were already on an antibiotic that would treat that (cephalexin). We have now switched to amoxicillin and hope that will help him out. The vet also sent cultures of the urine to be tested.
He is currently also on tramadol, sucralfate, and famotidine (last two for stomach ulcers caused by deramaxx which we have discontinued)
Anyone have any experience with this or other advice? Thanks.

Sorry to hear you and Rowdy are dealing with the diagnosis and all that. It's not easy but he's handling it like a champ and you are too!
I'm not sure what could be causing that and while it does sound like some type of uti (not unheard of here), your vet definitely sounds like they're on top of things though. For another bit of insight you might want to check with our fairy vet mother Dr. Wiltzius, post in Ask a Vet and hopefully she will see it soon. Otherwise it does sound to me like your vet is taking the appropriate steps to diagnose it.
Our Jerry also had an NSAID reaction just prior to surgery. He was on Previcox for a few weeks because our vet thought his limp was arthritis. That stuff did a number on his gut. I hope that Rowdy is feeling good again.
