Just a quick update....still waiting for the herbs to come in the mail....darn the holiday rush!! Nitro continues to be dry overnight, but we're still putting a diaper on him, and we still have our nephew coming to let him out when we're at work. I think we may be over the worst of it, now we just have to get brave enough to put him to the test without a diaper.
Paula and Nitro
P.S. I think he's trying to tell us he's better....John was trying to put the diaper on him before leaving for work and Nitro was having none of it. He was jumping from the couch to the futon mattress and back, then hopping down the hall to jump on the bed, and back down the hall, etc. John was getting frustrated, but I thought it was hilarious when he told me about it! Before, he would stand patiently and let us put it on.
Nitro 11 1/2 yr old Doberman; right front amp June 2014. Had 6 doses carboplatin, followed by metronomic therapy. Rocked it on 3 legs for over 3 years! My Warrior beat cancer, but couldn't beat old age. He crossed the Bridge peacefully on July 25, 2017, with dignity and on his terms. Follow his blog entitled "Doberman's journey"
"Be good, mama loves you".....run free my beautiful Warrior

Well, this whole journey has been a big roller-coaster ride, so why would I think the incontinence thing would be any different? After almost a week of no accidents, we're back to wetting while we're at work and also overnight - so back to wearing a diaper! At first I was so discouraged, I thought we were done. I think he's still having bladder issues, as he'll assume the position, and nothing comes out. We're still in the process of slowly increasing his herbs, so I'm hoping this too will pass. Maybe this is our "new normal"? I've never had a Dobe live 10 years before - maybe this is just old age? He's happy and active - you should see him bob and weave out in the yard when I throw the ball. I'm going to try and take each day as it comes, thankful he's still here with us.
Paula and pee-pants....I mean Nitro

Pee Pants???
Nitro! Did you hear what your Mom called you?? That's alright, you remember this okay? When your humans get a bit older, you'll be able to call them Pee Pants too! Probably Poop Pants also!
The fact that his issue is starting to clear up, even with a "step back", is encouraging! And yeah, it may be that the new normal is that it comes and goes, considering his age, etc.
The fact that he feels soooooo good is such a good indicator that all is well in Nitro's world! Reallu, really good!
Even though yiu are probably faking it, you are doing a great job too of not going to the "edge"!
Lots of love! Lots!!
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
