Any tips on getting dogs to poop after surgery??? Jack is eating well, drinking, peeing. But we are now day 5 post op and still no #2. He hasn't thrown up and is resting good so I feel like it's going somewhere and he isn't uncomfortable. I've been giving him tuna in oil since the day before surgery to keep things moving. Any ideas welcome!
Sure! I'll bet it will happen any day. Some tasty foods to help move things along include:
Steamed pumpkin, squash or zucchini
Metamucil flakes or bran cereal
More water in his food
Olive oil
Pretty soon your neighbors will wonder why you're giddy and dancing around his

If my memory is not failing me Eurydice pooped 6 days after surgery.
I was really worried (being a Momma, just like you) but there was nothing to worry about.
As the surgeon repeatedly told me, when they gotta go they gotta go 💩💩💩💩
In our case, the urge came in the middle of a terribly rainy and windy night but I still jumped up and down with joy.
And so will you, soon, hopefully with better weather 😁
Sending you both lots of cuddles and hugs 😘😘😘😘💕🐶💕
