Leo came home from the surgeon's this morning. They said he did really well in the morning before I was there and even went pee all my himself. When I got him here, he seemed uncomfortable and kept getting up and walking around. He went outside to pee. He came in and ate a whole can of food and drank a ton of water. He was even growling at the neighbor's dog when he heard him outside. He is finally sleeping now. Phew! What a day already.
Great news! Being cranky seems pretty normal at this stage. Lots of sleep, lots of rest, and little by little he'll be making progress by leaps and bounds!
Hang in there, and let us know if you need anything. We're rootin' for ya!

so awesome that Leo is home now. Radar ate and drank a lot right after surgery too but then went off food for a bit. There will be some ups and downs but I know you're ecstatic to have him home.

Glad to hear that Leo is home! Hope you were both able to sleep some the last two nights! Like someone already said you will have ups and downs during these first few days but I'm sure Leo will amaze you with how quickly he recovers. Maya had her amputation 2 weeks ago and she is already back to going for short walks and playing fetch with her beloved tennis ball! Everyone said that you will be amazed with how well they do within two weeks, and it was hard for me to believe it during those first few tough days and sleepless nights, but sure enough they were right. Just take each day one at a time and spoil Leo with lots of love. Best wishes!
