I have aa chihuahua rescue that was severely injured by a dog attack in which her front left should was completely taken out. Two small places won't heal. It looks like a stitch trying to come out but that's definitely NOT what it is.... Its been 6 mos and if it were at stitch it would come out by now. Anyone else experienced a wound that won't completely heal?

Welcome to Tripawds, your future posts will not have to wait for approval.

I hope you don't mind I moved your post here since it sounds like you have adopted your pup, she is not up for adoption.

I'm sorry you are having trouble this far after surgery.  I don't have any insight, hopefully our other members will have some ideas for you.

What is your pup's name?

We spoke tonight in the chat room , I'm glad you took my advice and posted here. Good luck!

Paula said you indicated in chat that you were looking for a holistic solution.

I don't know if these ideas would work for a non-healing incision, but it might be worth a try.

I searched on 'wound' in the Nutrition Blog and got These Results.

It actually could be a stitch.  Some sutures don't dissolve, they're meant to stay in.  I would contact the surgeon and ask what type of sutures were used and find out if this could be the case.

Is there a chance that it could be a reaction to the sutures? Meesha had her gut surgery nearly over 2 months ago and she's still oozing at her incision site. It gives the impression that it's not healing, but that's not the case. She's just having problems with the dissolving sutures.

Just throwing that out there.
