I read in Laurie Kaplan's book Help Your Dog Fight Cancer that we should only giving them filtered water. It didn't explain why - anyone know?
Of course I'll do anything ... even if it's questionable whether it's necessary, just wondering why...

Great question!
Well, I guess it's for the same reason that my pawrents only drink water filtered through a Brita I guess. Less chance of ingesting chemicals and contaminants, and excess minerals we don't need. When a dog has a compromised immune system, the less we are exposed to things like this, the better chance we have of fighting off infections and bouncing back from chemo, etc.
