Thank you, everyone. This past weekend has been indicative of the past five months....lots of changes! Eddy perked up yesterday afternoon and was doing really good...even playing ball! Then, last night, he started a fever again. It was 104.1, so we brought him into the vet this morning. They could find nothing necessarily wrong except an elevated white blood cell count. They are uncertain if the recent seizure is nothing, or if it could possibly be attributed to a tumor in the brain. He has had very weepy eyes lately, and that can also be a symptom of a brain tumor. At this point, we are not going to do anything to find that out. Sadly, Eddy appears to be at the end of his life. He has fought so hard and his body is just out of whack. He is laying by my side as I type this...always the watchful dog. We decided to take him home with us and love him up. I am not sure when the end will be, but the doctor thinks in a few days to a couple of weeks. We will let Eddy tell us when that is. The good thing is he is not in any pain and he is happy! Today, we broke all of the rules we have been following for the past 5 months, and Eddy had cookies and crackers! His favorites!
I just want to thank all of you for your help and guidance the past five months. I am not sure how I would have made it without all of your love and support. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!

Betsy Golden and Angel, Eddy. Eddy was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma 7-23-14, had a left rear amputation 8-07-14, had 3 rounds of carboplatin chemotherapy, a small lung met was discovered in October, had 2 rounds of doxorubicin, and unfortunately more lung mets were discovered. Eddy fought cancer valiantly and went to the Rainbow Bridge 1-6-15, at the age of 7 years and 359 days, just six days short of his 8th birthday. Best Dog, Ever....you will never be forgotten.
Awwweee . . . bless his heart, and yours!!
Prayers for you and Eddy. Peace be with you.

Oh my heart is breaking ... I was so hoping it wasn't that. Hold your dear Eddy close and cherish these remaining days/weeks/hours together ... celebrate your amazing love and try and find comfort that Eddy does know how loved he is! He is with you - how could he feel anything but?
Please keep us close to you and even if you can't post, know we are here and thinking about you always ...

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
I just don't have words. I am so hoping the seizures are medication related and will stop as adjustments are made. I've never dealt with them but have friends who have and it is devastating for the pawrents.
Glad he was able to enjoy some of his favorites with you. I'm thinking a special treat now and then doesn't hurt a thing as we struggle to offer them then best care we possibly can.
Hugs to you and Eddy.
