Ok, major panic for this tripawds mom today.  Thought I had gotten the door to the basement steps pulled shut behind me.  Nope, I didn't.  Hear this noise on the steps thinking its my other Rottie, Bosch behind me I turned around.  Guess who had started down the steps?? Ms Sassy.   Talk about major heart attack.  I still like to have a support as she goes up & down steps as she is still new at this.  Or maybe its just me being nervous.  Heck I don't know.  But it makes me feel better.   Anyway, she got 1/2 down the steps before I realized it was her.  There are no rugs at the bottom of the steps and I was afraid she would fall as she got down there so I helped her turn around.

All I can say is she had a big smile on her face like she had a major accomplishment.  I know she did but I think it took about 10 years off my life LOL.

As you can tell she is feeling pretty good.  Moving around great and today is the 1st day I didn't really have to beg her to go to the door to out out.  She was ready when I got off work.  So maybe that part is getting back to normal (or as normal as can be.)  Stitches out in 2 days and then I won't worry as much but still will worry some.

Can someone let me know how to post a picture I will post one of Sassy.

I love it!  Sassy showing Mom how it's done!!  Definitely sounds like she is feeling better and getting back to her "normal" self!  And it's okay if you still worry a little; that's what Moms do!

She is headed toward her new 'normal'.  And proud of herself, I might add!

You will always worry some. Like Maximutt said, it's what moms do.

Go Sassy!!

I attribute at least some of my grey hair to dealing with a tri-pug for almost 4 years!! She once rolled down the stairs at my parent's house- and that was way after she recovered!

Here are Instructions for Adding Photos to Posts.  Hope this helps.

Yep, they really leave the worrying to you.  Zep showed us right away when he went loping down the stairs and through the dog door like it was no biggie, then looked at us like "what?"  He climbs in and out of creeks, hills, and crawls up and down all hills and elevations.  That being said he's faceplanted more than his share and has broken a few teeth, but he doesn't seem to care as much as we do.

Love the image of her being so proud of herself. Way to go, Sassy!

And, yep, the worrying part comes with the territory!
Jackie, Angel Abby's mom

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman.
