My dog Kaiserin has a lung mass of some kind. They cannot find any other cancer anywhere in her body (after ultrasound, CT scan and several physical exams).  They said it looks a bit odd with a fluid centre and circle around the outside - not what they were expecting to see on the CT scan. It is either in her lung or in the lining of her lung (the lining would be a better scenario). They cannot biopsy it because she had a bleed on monday (which alerted us to something was wrong) and they believe that a biopsy will cause another bleed. So her only chance is to remove the mass. They tell me she will likely qualify for a less invasive procedure where they can put two small cameras in to examine and locate the mass and then do a third incision to remove the mass. It is much less invasive than cutting directly into the chest cavity. So we find out more information on monday if this is possible and could maybe do the surgery on wednesday. I would love to hear from anyone who has had any kind of lung surgery or lung tumor removal on their dog - more to know how the recovery process was and how hard it was on the dog.
