Oh my Tazz, I would never get offended! Goodness knows, I'm not a dog trainer and have done a lot of things wrong in the past!
Jay, thanks for the very helpful advice! Of course, I'm not as agile as I used to be and he's a little tot so a hand on the shoulder would require me to get in shape to bend to the ground! Little monkeybutt could care less if I reach in his bowl and take food away (I've tested it). I find it very interesting that Rocket knows I'm top mom because I can put my hands on my waist and stand over him and he'll roll on his back and get very submissive. He'll even get submissive with Comet if he thinks she's really upset with him.
Admin, I'm gonna go checkout the info you sent. Me still thinks that WBWHRFWyattRay Dawg is not that bad! I'm telling you, count your lucky stars - I've had one way worse! My BUGgy would squeal to the top of his lungs at the site of anyone and/or a dog (and wouldn't stop)! He couldn't figure out why everyone was so afraid of him, that was just his "HELLO".
I'm also going to feed Rocket a little bit more food at meal time. I'm giving him 1/3 of a cup 2x per day, maybe it's not enough since he's so active. I'm pretty sure in his previous life he had to fight for food and was just thrown outside. He still has hard time drinking water in the house and has to go outside to a water bowl.
I think he will be grow up to be a wonderful little dog. He is just so incredibly smart and wants to learn so much.
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
What? You have crumbs on your floor?
We've used the gentle leader with Holly, and it works to get her to behave during walks. She hates it, though! It sounds like you've gotten some great suggestions... I just wanted to let you know that the penny can worked wonders with Holly when we were training her, and since you've pointed out that MB and Holly are both terriers... :-). But I wouldn't try it if it would make Comet crazy - that's not worth it!
Good luck with MB! It sounds like he's really shaping up to be a good dog - if you can only figure out the crumbs thing! Do we need to revive operation MonkeyButt?
Holly and Holly's mom
Holly joined the world of tripawds on 12/29/2009. She has a big little sister, Zuzu, who idolizes Holly and tries to make all of her toys into tripawds in Holly's honor. And she's enjoying life one hop at a time!

Holly - Shhhhhhhhhhhhh!
Mommy is getting coffeee and I'm jumping in...
He is not a good dog and I'm still working on my plan.
Oh - she's coming back! Gotta go ! 4 + 2 = 6 Right?
Comet out!

Just an update!
1 squirt with the water bottle and problem solved! He is terrified of the water bottle! Now when he zones in on Comet, I don't even have to get the bottle, I just point my finger and he pulls his ears back and relaxes. I tell him he's a good boy and he gets all excited and wiggles! It's so much more fun to have mommy love on you!
Not all the kinks are worked out yet, but we are close. He had 1 episode in the car on the way to the park when he growled at Comet, but Comet had her face in the treat bag! He didn't think that was right!
YAY!

That is too cute. I'm glad something so simple has solved the problem 🙂 I may try it on Duke when he gets all worked up about a noise outside.
Shanna & Spirit Trouble ~ Trouble gained her wings 3/16/2011, a 27 1/2 month cancer survivor, tail wagging. RIP sweetheart, you are my heart and soul. Run free at Rainbow Bridge.

Glad to hear you found something that works. We just point at Chuy too and he stops whatever trouble he's about to start.
Keep it up, things Rocket will learn that not every crumb belongs to him.
Chuy, showing everyone that Tripawds do everything 3 times better than regular dogs!
Just an update on the food aggression with Rocket (aka ugly monkeybutt)...
We can do CHEERIO TOSSES without any problems now!!!!! It's so nice to finally not worry about crumbs! Comet has learned to not even bother with them but Rocket is not being ugly anymore either!
We've been having a great time with some Easter Peeps I bought (thought they could hunts peeps in the yard for Easter). Rocket doesn't like them but he loves to tease Comet with his! So, he dances around it so she'll come and get it and then he dashes away quickly with it! Last night, for a moment he forgot about it and when she got it in her mouth he squealed at her! He didn't get mad. He just wanted to keep playing!

That is IT! I've gotta get me some Peeps! Yum!!!!
So training works on some dogs eh? Just when I almost had my pawrents convinced that it's no use spending time on that silly stuff.
Gee, thanks for making life harder for me, Rocket! Now I get to hear all about yet another GOOD DOG. Sheesh.
