I was using EI 8 when I joined the chat last nite... and it was definitely not renewing for me... (I had to refresh several times) but text showing who was participating was on top of other text below. I also missed several of the responses by oncovet, which I only noticed when I read the transcripts of the chat today. I decided to switch over to view it in Firefox and that seemed to do the trick... and I only had to refresh the page once. Are there any settings I should change in my EI so that I don't have these problems in the future?

Jake, 10yr old golden retriever (fractured his front right leg on 9/1, bone biopsy revealed osteosarcoma on 9/10, amputation on 9/17) and his family Marguerite, Jacques and Wolfie, 5yr old german shepherd and the newest addition to the family, Nala, a 7mth old Bengal mix kittie. Jake lost his battle on 11/9/2009, almost 8 weeks after his surgery. We will never forget our sweet golden angel… http://jakesjou.....ipawds.com ….. CANCER SUCKS!

Did you happen to notice this tip above the chat window?
If you do not see User List in MS IE, view in compatibility mode.
Selecting "Compatibility Mode" when viewing tripawds.com in MS Internet Explorer can help resolve various page rendering issues. I'd be interested to know if were using Compatibility Mode and still experiencing the problems. We have confirmed in our tests that it does fix the overlapping user list.
Thanks for the feedback!

Yes I think I was in Compatilbility mode. It seems to automatically do that for many websites I'm on lately... ever since I made the stupid decision to upgrade my IE to 8.0 as per MS's recommendation. Aaarrrhhhh!!! I used to have a Mac years ago... I should have never gone to a PC. Only did it so I could easily bring my work home and not worry about converting files back and forth... What a mistake!!!

Would yo mind confirming? We have never seen the overlapping text issue with compatibility mode turned on...
The post refresh issue was likely related to the number of members in the chat last night, that was probably the most we've ever had.

I have a screenshot showing what I see when it says the site I'm viewing is in Combatibility view... but I couldn't insert it in this message. Do I need to have that image uploaded somewhere online first? Maybe I'll just email it to you...

The icon appears on all pages in IE 8. Ensure that it is clicked/highlighted when viewing the chat page. Can't replicate the issue here. If problem persists, I suggest turning compatibility off, clearing your browser cache, relaunching and viewing chat page in compatibility view again. If still ne better, using Firefox may be the only solution.

Acutally, that compatibility icon doesn't appear in every page... It's not on Facebook or MySpace and several others I frequent... but then it appears on many others, including Tripawds... I'm not sure why that is...
