We'd like to remind all Tripawds bloggers to be sure and activate the TypePad Anti-Spam plugin vie the Dashboard -> Plugins -> Installed tab to help reduce the number of spam comments. On Tripawds Supporter blogs, the powerful WP-Spamfree plugin can also be activated for enhanced spam protection. WP-Spamfree also will stop 99% of all automated spambots, and also allows for easy insertion of a spam-protected contact form in blogs.

Fighting spam is a constant battle for all bloggers. Other settings for helping to slow the onslaught of unwanted comments can be found on the Dashboard -> Settings -> Discussion tab. Bloggers can choose to turn off all comments which is the only sure-fire way to stop spam altogether, but then nobody can comment. Other settings include requiring members to be signed in to leave a comment, but this means they must be registerred users of your blog. Bloggers can also select various moderation settings, or add the email address (or keywords, or IP address) of known spammers to their comment blacklist.

Always be sure to spam comments you don't like (instead of just ignoring or trashing them) so WordPress learns what is spam on your blog. We hope this helps.
