The URL of the pic must begin with http:// and end with a valid image file extension (e.g.; .jpg, .gif, .png).

Nope, the device doesn't matter.
Take a look at that URL. Notice ?imgurl= redirect to the actual image file location and all the variables after .jpg&.
The URL you past into the Insert Image button field must be one direct url to a specific image file ending in .jpg (or .png, .gif) etc.
When you load images from the Google with URLs that look like this, you will need to "disect" out the actual image URL. No imgurl= and no imgrefurl=. In this case the Image URL is highlighted here...

Copy just the actual image url, like that highlighted, and you can embed the photo...
Of course, whenever that image is removed from wherever it is hosted, it will disappear from wherever you have added it here, resulting in a bad link...

I understand what rhe Admin Guy said!! I DO!!! If I can understand it, anyone can!!! 🙂 But here's Plan B if that doesn't work. Petra, I just screenshot all my google pictures, then go to ADD NEW in my Media Library. That directs me to three options. Darn, can't remember name, but I tap third option. That takes me to my albums.....which takes me to screenshot....select the phot and it gets downloaded in my media. Then that's when the fun really begi s when you try to capture that hhttp ending in jpg. But you'll see on the video.

Hi again. When I copied the google link, I tried to just cut out the http...jpg section but on the touch screen system, it just keeps sending me through to the link. So I copied the whole link and cut out the section of the link that I think is correct...? So I have pasted it here and am not sure....

That should work. "Should" beingthe key word...
1. No idea why you are getting/copying the encoded URL (e.g with encoded entities like "%2f" instead of "/")...
For example:
img.buzzfeed.com/buzzfeed-static/static/2015-05/26/16/enhanced/webdr11/enhanced-25006-1432672156-27.jpg
vs
imgurl=https%3A%2F%2Fimg.buzzfeed.com%2Fbuzzfeed-static%2Fstatic%2F2015-05%2F26%2F16%2Fenhanced%2Fwebdr11%2Fenhanced-25006-1432672156-27.jpg
But again, that should work. The entire link, with all the variables will not.
2. Different websites display images in different ways. Some will not render images without all the variables. This is why an attempt to load the buzzfeed image directly results in:
"The image “https://img.buzzfeed.com/fbuzzfeed-static/static/2015-05/6/16/enhanced/webdr11/enhanced-25006-1432672156-27.jpg” cannot be displayed because it contains errors."
And why it will not embed on third party sites, like in the forums here.
3. It is always best to host your own images. That way you have control of where they can be embedded, and when they get deleted. And, then the google won't ding us if/when the images disappear, resulting in bad links.
If you can view the image, save it to your hard (drive or device). Then upload it to your Media Library, and grab the image file URL from there.

Okay, you have to tap TWO buttons at EXACTLY the same time. You tap the ON/OFF button and the button that I have no idea what it's called. On my tavlet it's the vutton that returns you to the home screen. So push them down simultaneously....you'll hear a sound sort of like a camera shutter sound...BAM!! You have a screenshot! You can email them, you can do all sorts of things with them.
