Lalla and Sasha would like to give a shout out (with loads and loads of kudos) for all our vets. This morning, I (human talking) met a very sweet senior Golden Retriever. When I knelt down to make his acquaintance, I noticed he had dried blood splattered all over his legs. I asked his owner what had happened, and he was completely oblivious to the fact that something had happened to his lovely dog, who just kept on wagging his tail…and being, well a dog.

I’ll leave all the wonderful and compassionate dog people in the Tripawds forums to guess what my thoughts were concerning this particular dog owner, but what I did realize as I walked away that I had once again encountered that amazing capacity dogs possess which is that they rarely give any indication of pain – on any level. Which I can only imagine is so confusing yet so mystifying to veterinarians.

It’s not like a human walking into the family doctor’s office with a runny nose and red eyes – the diagnosis is obvious from the get go.
Ever since she was a puppy, I’ve watched Lalla’s vet Andre bang his head against the wall (for real, and literally) trying to figure out a myriad of symptoms with patience that could only be matched with hers.

Again, I am sure all you folks out there know what I mean. And again, I am in awe of this man and all our wonderful vets who have managed to maintain our beloved friends’ lives. Thank you Andre, with all our heart - and to all the clinic team - and to all our Tripawds’ vets.
