Four years ago today, one of our earliest Tripawds community members, Max, left us for the great big dog park in the sky. We had the honor of meeting Max on two occasions, along with his amazing humans, John, Diane and their sweet packmate, Linda. When he earned his wings, the heartbeat of the Tripawds nation stopped in shock and grief.
Max, you are unforgettable. We miss you.
We are honored that John (aka Maxidad), Diane (aka Maximutt), Linda and the notorious Bernie Bin Laden continue to help so many people here and generously support the community even after all this time.
Guys, thank you so much for becoming a part of our family, you have brought so much wisdom, love and smiles to us and often just when we need it the most.
Folks, please light a candle in your heart for Max tonight. We sure will. I know he's feeling the Tripawd Love.
Here's a cute video we made so many years ago with our vintage digital camera. Smile and laugh with us as Max rips up the waves on his favorite beach! What a guy!

Oh, thank you so much Rene & Jim!! We loved our boy very much, and think about him every single day. We remember that day at the beach well! It was about 5 weeks after amputation, and it was Max's first "big day" out of the house. John and I were so excited to take him to the beach (and to meet Rene & Jim) that we completely forgot our camera!! Mercifully, Rene had hers, and our time there was memorialized forever.
Max was a big hunk of a guy, and he had a way with women especially. This day was no exception. When he got a bit tired from all the running and splashing, he laid on the sand right on Rene's feet! I'm pretty sure that did it for Rene, looking into Max's beautiful blue eyes!! (He was so very handsome!!) Max slept like a rock when we got home that day. Even though we were so very scared at the journey ahead, that great day showed us there was hope.
Thank you again for remembering our special boy. He meant the world to us.

Imjust read every single tribute, as well as your replies, about Max's passing.....a passing with dignity and an embrace of love.
"Grief s the price you pay for love"...lovely, so lovely.
"It's not goodbye, it's goodnight. One day you will wake upa dn this life will be a dream". (Laura) You will find yourself by Max's side as he wags non'stop and smothers you in kisses and asks, "Where the heck have you been? I've been having a blast and couldn't wait to share it with you!"
Meeting you and Max helped Jm and Rene continue to stay committed to helping tripawds. Thank you Max. I cannot imagine...CANNOT IMAGINE...having to go this journey comp.etely alone.....cannot imagine.
Okay, have to go read some more about this incredible boy's life.....and hlw Bernie Bin Laden got eyes jist like Max! LOVE the pic of Max eating the hot dog by the way! Those wo derful, wonderful eyes!!

Hi Sally. No, Bernie definitely does not have Max's blue eyes! Bernie's are brown. Sometimes red, like the devil's. 
So sorry always hard these days.. I've never seen him before, he's beautifull 
Wish you the best of luck today, just remember the good times he will be there today;)
