My Mom told me I am a lucky dog and then proceeds to put this big yellow and black stiff thing on me. She strapped me in puts another strap around my neck, I thought what the *%@#*?. I was actually kind of scared I just stood there like a statue, this was the first time I think I was ever afraid of anything like this! She called me and I ran into the house I didn't like this thing I layed down and I wouldn't even get up until she said do you want a goodie so I did get up and she finally took this thing off of me. Then I heard her say now we can go swimming in the river next weekend and I thought I am a lucky dog! I still am not sure of the yellow thing but if it gets me back into the water what the heck I think maybe I can over come my fear of it, sure going to give it a try so I guess I am a lucky dog after all I get to go swimming again!!!

Oh Tasha, you'll learn to love that yellow thing!
We can't wait to see you swimming again. Maybe you can teach Wyatt to love his yellow thing too. He can't stand the water ... yet!

Ummmm....I'm not sure but Wyatt may not ever like the water! 😉 He IS a GSD after all! Maggie ain't none too crazy about water either Wyatt(and she isn't no where's near a pure GSD!)
Tracy, Maggie's Mom
Maggie was amputated for soft tissue sarcoma 10-20-09
Maggie lost her battle with kidney disease on 8-24-13
Oh but I LOVED the water! It took me a long time though, and it wasn't until I saw two Shiloh Sheppies swimming and having a ball that I decided I wanted to try it too. After that, nobody could stop me!
Tasha, you and Wyatt need some swimming lessons! It would be fun to see you two together trying to swim. You can do it!

Tasha, you'll learn to love that yellow thing, I know I love mine! Anytime I want to go in the pool Mom puts it on me, sometimes I go in without it though. Another swimmer! ARoooooooo!
My sisters Anka (ger. shep) and Gretchen (shep mix) hate the water. Hmmmm......I think they're just big chickens though, not real dogs like us Tripawds.
Chuy, showing everyone that Tripawds do everything 3 times better than regular dogs!
Splish Splash! I can already hear Tasha having a good time!
Don't worry Tasha - life vests aren't meant to wear in the house anyway. That was just a test run. You'll totally forget it's on you when you get in the water.
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Wadaya mean GSDs don't like the water!!??!! Wolfie and all my other GSDs always loved to swim! We got video proof!
Tasha... you're gonna love it, once you get over your yellow thingie... Can't wait to see some pictures and videos of you in action!!
Angel Jake's Mom
Jake, 10yr old golden retriever (fractured his front right leg on 9/1, bone biopsy revealed osteosarcoma on 9/10, amputation on 9/17) and his family Marguerite, Jacques and Wolfie, 5yr old german shepherd and the newest addition to the family, Nala, a 7mth old Bengal mix kittie. Jake lost his battle on 11/9/2009, almost 8 weeks after his surgery. We will never forget our sweet golden angel… http://jakesjou.....ipawds.com ….. CANCER SUCKS!
Tasha, I remember when my mom put that thing on me for the first time (it was lime green though) and I stood there so stiff, you probably could have tipped me over. Had no idea what this concraption was. So I can totally relate. Then I remember looking at Lincoln's website where his mom made him wear that thing and they said he looked like a Superhero! Well, after that, I thought this thing can't be sooo bad - a Superhero in the water? Very cool . I bet when you do go swimming, you'll be so happy to be in the water again that you won't even know that it's on you. Take lots of pictures and remember, Superhero!
Mackenzie (and Mackenzie's Mom)
My sweet golden Mackenzie. She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2 although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009. She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes. I love you Mackenzie!
