Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Thanks for the nice reply's :). Benny55, the other one is Sira, our 9 year old princess ;). Yes Skippie is very smart and doesn't waste energy.....he likes to ambush! And he often uses Sira's harness for grip and to pull her down. As mentioned before he is the only one that manages to get Sira down, but maybe Sira also let's him and somehow sees him as a little brother.

Mom2shelby, a lot of people don;t even notice he has 3 legs. They are often very surprised. Of course you can see it in his normal walking (hopping around), but not at high speed ;).

I hole you'll take videos! Skippie is just so darn cute!

Ohhh what fun! Just had a chance to watch the video, I love watching him stalk! What kinds of activities did you do in tracking? We'd love to hear more about it.

Thanks you all :). He also makes me happy/smile every day. Such a happy and smart dog.

Jerry, basically you work in a couple (2 dogs and their human companions). One of the humans walks through the forest and hide somewhere. Than the other person gives a "search" command and the dog will follow the track and find the human (the other dog has to wait). The initiative of the dog is very much stimulated, so they can do what they want (nose down, nose up, follow track or use short cuts) as long as they are working and finding the human "victim". Then they get rewarded with their favorite toy. We are now traing that the dog signals so he/she can let there human companion know that they have found the victim. In real life search and rescue dogs are off leash of course and far away (much faster) than there handler.

WOW... that sounds like so much fun! I would love to do that with Jasper (she's a master hunter as see on our walks when she finds / sees things LONG before I do). but she's a super flight risk and I am afraid if the location wasn't enclosed, she would wander off in search of a better life (ha ha)... or squirrel. But it does sound like a great way to stimulate their mind.
