My cat Cody had his left front leg removed on Friday 17th Oct. he is recovering well and getting used to his new body. His brother seems to be very indifferent to him though, I am only letting them see each other for short periods of time at the moment. It must be hard for his brother as they were always out together and he feels lost as well.
Hello Cody and family, welcome! Your future posts won't need approval so post away, we want to hear all about you. How come you lost your leg Cody? Don't worry about your brother, that weird vet office smell you have on you is probably why he's being indifferent, nobody likes that aroma! In time you'll be out there with him again and having a great time. Be sure to check out our Tripawd Kitty Bloggers to see how good life will be!
We are very glad you're here.

Welcome Cody! We want to hear your story & see PICTURES!
Our Sterling didn't end up as a tripawd (it was discussed), but she did have major orthopedic surgery (to correct a growth plate issue that significantly bowed & twisted her femur) that kept her mostly in a crate for about 3 months.
We had purposely caged the pair of kittens every night as soon as we got them, partly for their safety but also to be sure they are used to being caged in case they ever needed it. We were able to set Sterling up in a crate next to the kitty condo so she & Savannah could still be near each other but not able to play. After 2 months when restrictions were loosened,w e connected two dog crates end to end for her to have a large run and could put Savannah in there with her over night.
Maybe you could do a similar set up while Cody heals?

Just wanted to say welcome to the family! Sorry you have to be here, but welcome! You are not alone. We have some wonderful kitties here and I'm sure they will chime in.
Cody and his brother both realize Cody needs his quiet recovery time right now. They'll be interactive just like before soon!
Tell us more about Cody andnhis brother when you can. Clearly they are both lucky to have you as their human!
Hugs to all! Make sure you get some rest too, okay?
