Emily had her right back leg amputated yesterday and got to come home today!  She is doing so great.  We could not keep up with her on the way to the car.  We are trying to keep her quiet but it is not easy.  I am so glad to made this decision.  No regrets!

Debra & Emily, a five year old doberman mix, who was diagnosed with an osteosaecoma. She had a right rear leg amputation on May 19, 2009. On November 10, 2009 she earned her wings and regained her fourth leg.

Welcome home Emily!  Glad to hear she is doing well, but don't forget, keep her as quiet as possible for the first few days.  Some of that energy could be side effects from the pain meds.  We're here for you if you need us!  Just glad to know she's home safe and sound.

Welcome home Emily!

We know what you mean about trying to keep up with a tripawd- they are hard to keep down sometimes. But do try and stay quiet for those first two weeks of recovery- they need the rest to heal.

Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Yipee! That is great news, and a giant hurdle that she's just completed. Take it easy, watch for any signs of over-exertion, and allow for at least a couple of weeks of R
