Hello all,
Wow. So much has happened since we have last been on. line We are so sorry to hear of the losses, and happy to hear updates from our friends that are still fighting their various cancers. Kellie, thanks for asking about us. We think about you often, too!! How are you???
I am doing very well. My front amputation was on April 16th... so I guess that I am now just about 2 months out. I am now totally back to myself. Today I went swimming in the ocean. (Again) My human dad still thinks that he can swin faster, but even with 3 legs I can beat him to the ball EVERY TIME!!! I have also been in the pool a few times. That is pretty fun, but the ocean waves are my passion. I will admit to the stairs being difficult at the beach house. I can't seem to get down them without help at times. My pawrents have noticed that if they ask if I would like to go for a swim, that I can fly down the stairs. Sometimes, I think that I just get worked up.
As far as my cancer, recall that my diagnosis was changed to grade 1 fibrosarcoma. After a lengthy visit with a canine oncologist, we decided not to do the chemo. Our doc. felt that there were not studies that really backed the need for chemo. In the end, it was "up to us". My pawrents are very comfortable with their decision. We feel like we were very informed and made the right decision for our family.
As my mom said once before, I did need to be reminded that I was not the pack leader. My mom spoilled me pretty badly for a time. I started grabbing food off of the table and having pretty bad manners. Well, that has all been straightened out now. I know my place in my home and we are ALL happy for that! Jerry was right about that whole pack leader thing...
My pawrents have also learned about feeding me a more healthy diet after reading on this website. I am now on a food called Origins. I am pretty sure that this is a good first step for me. Anyone out there heard of this one?
Jerry, thanks.....
Very large tail wags,
Charlie Brown
Thanks for the update Charlie Brown! Glad to hear you're doing well, and that you've remembered your place in the pack. Be good to your people. They've been pretty awesome for you.

Hi Charlie...my name is Zeus and my front right amputation was done on April 9th...one week before you so we are very close in our recovery time. I'm doing great too...I think it's because our pawrents had the knowledge they needed to make the right decisions for us...and a little help from above.
I'm so happy to hear that you are doing well. I wish we were closer to the ocean...the waves sounds like so much fun - I like to paddle around in a lake though when I can. 🙂
Thanks for checking in...
Have fun with that ball in the waves~
Paws forever,
Zeus
