My sweet dog has soft tissue sarcoma and his pain has accelerated in the past 24 hours. He's on tramadol and rimadyl, but is really uncomfortable... Has anyone experienced pain alleviation with a heating pad or ice pack? The tumor is located in his rear knee area.

Hi Scout and family, welcome. I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Are you getting your leg amputated or doing palliative care? Have you decided?
Please call your vet to get another drug added into the mix, possibly a Fentanyl patch to help until something more can be done. In the m meantime, here's a blog post we just wrote about heat and ice therapy tips. It relates to post-amputation but it seems to me that you would want to use ice. If I'm wrong hopefully one of our amazing community members will jump in.
