So while we're waiting to hear from Zuzu's vet I wonder if there's any strengthening or other preparation we can do to help her start rehab early.
Zuzu is an 11 year old Australian Shepherd that was diagnosed with soft tissue sarcoma and will be having a rear leg amputation soon.

Before Surgery!?!?!?
We would never recommend exercise with a damaged limb, nor during recovery. But you can certainly start by adjusting Zuzu's diet
And, we are not vets. Please consider consulting with a certified rehab vet/tech (CCRT or CCRP ). Once the stitches are out, there are plenty of starter exercises you can do to help rebuild strength. Loving Life On Three Legs is also filled with lots of professional tips and how to videos. After surgery, you may even get reimbursed for your first rehab consultation from the Maggie Moo Fund for Tripawd Rehab!

She isn't having any pain or mobility issues yet. I know to wait until stitches come out and we plan to get her to rehab when it's the right time, just wasn't sure if there was anything we could do to help strengthen her core now.
