Jill is a 9-year-old tuxedo kitty. She was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in June 2012 on her toe in her right hind leg. Her leg was amputated on 12/12/12 and she completed four rounds of chemo (2 of Carbo, 2 of Doxy) in April 2013. We have been using it for 2 years on our dog Bailey.  It has made an enormous difference.  One of the early signs of his cancer was that he was developing a staff infection on his skin that would only abate while using antibiotics, but the moment we took him off the antibiotics it would return.  We started the ES Clear/Life Gold and the infection was gone within a week and has never returned.

Hmmm, interesting stuff. I haven't heard of most of those ingredients before.

I would just say that like any herbal remedies, use discretion and do your research to make sure you're getting your money's worth. It always helps to consult with a holistic vet if possible.

I read the reviews on petwellbeing.com (where they sell it) before purchasing.  It received a crazy amount of positive reviews from dog owners everywhere.  They almost sounded too good to be true, but I figured it was worth a shot since nothing else was working.  In addition to getting rid of his staff infection, I suspect that it played a role in keeping his cancer from metastazising for the 2 years he had it.

Yeah, I saw the reviews on their page but I have to admit I was slightly skeptical because, well, it's on the company's website. I doubt they would allow any negative reviews, you know what I mean? BUT, hearing your story has piqued my interest and I want to look into this some more for our Nutrition Blog -- everyone should know what their options are. I think I'll run this by a holistic practitioner friend of ours and see what she thinks. Stay tuned, and thanks for bringing it to my attention!

I will also ask Jill's oncologist about it at our appointment on January 8th and let you know!

Our vet had never heard of it, but she too was impressed with the results.  I'm all for holistic treatments over drugs, if possible.

Jerry, ES Clear/Life Gold is similar to a product by Only Natural Pet.  It's called BSST.  I've ordered some and will try it.  It seems like a similar method to administer Essiac.

Did Bailey get ES Clear/Life Gold when he was going through treatments for his other cancers?  I'd love to find out more about how to introduced the supplement to Bailey and what dose you used.  I'm with you on trying to incorporate holistic treatments whenever possible!

ACL tear in right hind leg 12/5/12 and scheduled ACL repair surgery 12/21/12. Pre-op xrays revealed osteosarcoma. Amputation 12/28/12.  Chemo (carboplatin) started Jan 10, 2013 and ended on April 5, for a total of 5 doses. He handled carbo like a champ!  No side effects.  We started metronomic therapy at his third chemo and have been also doing some holistic treatments.  He's a lively, playful 10 year old huskie-boarder collie and a very proud member of the Winter Warriors!  Our love. Our funny little guy!

Bailey didn't receive any other treatment for his cancer besides the ES Clear/Life Gold supplement.

Hi-

Wanted to update on this as I asked Jill's oncologist about it yesterday.  She said it sounded like a good product to try, however, she did not want Jill on it during chemotherapy because it is an antioxidant and chemo works in part by causing oxidation.  She does however want Jill to take omega-3 during chemo and recommended nordic naturals.

Thanks, rica55.  I'm shopping for Omega3's right now and am focusing on Only Natural Pet store.  I, too, like the look and price of the liquid Nordic Naturals Omega 3.  It's one of the more concentrated versions and a great cost.  I'm comparing it to various Nature Made pills we can buy at Walgreens (and something my husband and I have already been taking for >1 year).  What's really confusing, is to compare NN's dose to what Dr Dressler in his book (Dog cancer survival guide - I bought it) recommends.  It's a ton!  He's practically asking me to give my 60lb dog 10-12 pills/day!  Holy cow!  You have a sweet, small little kitty, which according to Dr D needs 1000-2000mg/day (up to 10lbs of body weight) = 180mg EPA and 120mg DHA.  My husband and I take just 1 pill a day at these same concentrations.  So we're either really under-dosing ourselves, or really jacking it up for our pets.  Did your oncologist have a dosage recommendation for Jill?  Anyone else have a sense for the best dosage?

She did not tell me what dosage to give her, but she did say to get the liquid form and follow the directions.  not sure if that helps????

ONP is a great resource, and we hope you'll shop through our Tripawds Nutrition Blog's links to ONP (see left sidebar for one, it's under "Supplements." Every purchase made through those links helps cover the costs of keeping Tripawds online, so thanks!

As for Nordic Naturals Omega 3 and the dose for pets, I believe Dressler is recommending those high dosages because that's the amount found to be effective when cancer is involved. The regular recommended amounts are for a normal, healthy system without the disease.

Nordic Naturals Omega-3 Liquid Medium / Large Dog 8 oz

I found Nordic Naturals is also available in liquid form for large dogs, eliminating the need for so many pills. This image and the link I included will take you to Only Natural Pet. image-2586253-10379986

Thanks!  I'll absolutely go through Tripawds.com to place my order.

Rica55: how much does Jill weigh?  Tell me, and I'll tell you what Dr D recommends for her intake, then compare it to the bottle.

I have found some other, more concentrated pills: 1400mg by Nature Made (45 pills/bottle) and Mega EPA/DHA by Life Extension (120 pills).
