OK, I don't know if this counts as a "coping" song - but it is one of my all time favorite songs (and I think pretty darn in line w/ what our pooches are trying to teach us, and what we all try to tell the new folk on this site, and what we all try to do ourselves day-to-day). It's: "Life's What You Make It" by Talk Talk. (Yes, I love the 80s. Not ashamed to say it! Oh, and while I'm at it - hooray for Duran Duran - one of my hubby's faves.) Anyway, the song is kinda mellow, so not exactly a 'fight song' but I love the words:
"Baby,
life's what you make it
Celebrate it
Anticipate it
Yesterday's faded
Nothing can change it
Life's what you make it"
If you've never heard it before, you can listen to the video on YouTube (notice I say 'listen to' - I've been cranking this song on my record player/tape player/walk-man/boom box/cd player/iPod/Nano for oh, a while now but had never actually seen the video before today. It's got a lotta creepy bugs in it. bleh.) So, open it up in another browser and just give it a listen...

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!

WooHoo! I'm gonna dust off my Members Only jacket and crank up the Wayback Machine...
Sorry, no download available for that one, but you can get it on vinyl or get the Talk Talk, Life's What You Make It CD. Remember CDs?For you kiddies out there vinyl refers to big black discs they used to use for recording music to be played on analog devices, not some monkeyfetish.
This topic is no longer just about coping and memorializing. It is now officially for any favorite Tripawd Tribute Tunes!

Hey, all the cool kids know that vinyl's making a comeback! (I can't believe you can't download that song! I burned it to my itunes from my CD.)
So, yeah, I really have owned that one (plus a few other fave songs/"albums") in vinyl, tape, CD and digital versions. I pray they don't come up with something else!
And, hey, I'll put on my black eyeliner and mousse my hair up to ridiculous heights and we can have a dance party!
