It's been three months for us and now that I'm able to look at pictures and sort through them, I've been looking for songs and music to make slideshows and other things. With the amount of loss we have on this site, I thought it might be helpful for us to compile a list and share the ones we've found whether they be songs to cope and remember, or songs to capture the happiness and joy our furbabies brought.

Two I really like:

http://lyrics.u.....-lyrics - Video and Lyrics – Just Breathe, Pearl Jam

I stumbled on this song a couple of months ago even though it was recorded in 1965 and it reminded me of all of the tripawd warriors we lost.  It turns out the artist is an animal activist which I found so fitting.

Interestingly, it is the female artist that sang "Girl From Ipanema" and ALSO the song you hear on the Capital One commercial in the background called, "Call Me".   (this is how I found it – I knew I had heard the song on the tv commercial and it was driving me nuts until I looked it up)

Look To The Rainbow

chorus:

Look, look

Look to the rainbow.

Follow it over the hill

And the stream.

Look, look

Look to the rainbow.

Follow the fellow

Who follows a dream.

Follow the fellow,

Follow the fellow,

Follow the fellow

Who follows a dream.

I also included her song "The Puppy Song".

Just heard Willie Nelson singing Angel Flying Too Close To The Ground and thought of our recent fallen heroes Henri and Skyler.

Having been there with Jerry, the lyrics ring true…

Willie Nelson Angel Flying Too Close To The Ground lyrics

If you had not have fallen
Then I would not have found you
Angel flying too close to the ground

And I patched up your broken wing
And hung around a while
Tried to keep your spirits up
While you were feelin' down
I knew someday that you would fly away
For love's the greatest healer to be found
So leave me if you need to
I will still remember
Angel flying too close to the ground

Fly on, fly on past the speed of sound
I'd rather see you up
Than see you down
Leave me if you need to
I will still remember
Angel flying too close to the ground

Reggae fans should appreciate this one. Yesterday, on the anniversary of Jerry's last day on earth, I heard this upbeat tune that made me think of his ever present smile and positive outlook on life …

Lots of Sign
Artist: Tenor Saw
Album: Fever

Life is one big road with lots of sign, sign and more sign, yeah!
I'm gonna make up my mind and face reality all the time!
Many have sorrow many have joy
Never try to take life for a toy,
Some may do good, Some are doing bad,
And this kind of bad-doing is driving me bad.
But when sun shine today, I go on me knees and pray
I say lord, Send me tomorrow,
I say Lord let me have joy,
Never let me have sorrow.
Lord, let me have joy,
Never let me have sorrow

Of course, you have to include Patrick Stump's, "Spotlight (Oh Nostalgia)" cuz if that's not inspawrational, I don't know what is!

As I posted on Super Sammy's blog, the earworm that keeps popping up in my head these days is from the movie Love Actually. All I Want For Christmas Is WOOOO!

And of course, Rio's personal theme song — Rio, by Duran Duran (hope this conjures up lots of spandex memories little-devil)

[Image Can Not Be Found]For having a good cry, Love Remains the Same was on my personal playlist, for lines like "Half the time the world is ending" and "I never thought that I had anymore to give."  Those really encapsulated for me how emotionally hard the hard times were with Yoda's osteosarcoma – getting the initial diagnosis, the appearance of the lung mets, the lung mets bursting and when Yoda finally did start to show the signs that he was struggling.  (It also happened to be on the radio ALL the time in Yoda's last couple weeks and after).  But not enough in it was uplifting enough for a tribute – that songs for letting out all the bad stuff only, in my opinion.  Rossdale has another one called "Forever May You Run" that struck a chord too – totally a dog song, whether he realized it or not.

[Image Can Not Be Found]A song that's still a little sad, but has FIGHT in it, that I liked 3 Doors Down's "It's Not My Time" and made a tribute video for Yoda with that, but the sound and video quality, unfortunately, so it's probably better to listen to it elsewhere, if you want to hear the song.  Still, this is the link to the Yoda video:

Here's a mellower good-bye to Yoda tribute below –  "Chasing Cars" by Snow Patrol.  I take it to be a song about being more in the present with your loved one(s), which is the same as "being more dog," right?

Oh there were a lot more on my playlist, what were they… Mr. Bojangles – "The dog up and died, he up and died.  And after 20 years he still grieves."  Geez… didn't I pick any happy ones?  I'm such a downer, oh yeah, everybody loves "The Puppy Song," right, Cometdog?  And thus Gerry gets to push his way into this post too (does Gerry has a drop of monkeydog blood in him perhaps?):

Gerry has been a tripawd since 12/16/2009.

He was a shelter dog with a mysterious past and an irrepairable knee injury.

Videos and pics of Gerry's pawesomeness can be found at: http://gerry.tripawds.com

I was mentioning in Sam's blog that when I need to get my fighting mojo on, I turn up the volume to The Judds, I Will Stand By You – makes me feel like we can beat the snot out of this cancer crap! It's our rallly cry….the louder the better!

Btw – I've now been singing Rio's song all afternoon….
