Amy, sometimes we are called upon to do the very thing that every atom of our body screams at us not to do.... and it is only those who truly love our furry family enough that cant silence the internal screams.... with love.

I weep with you regarding that heart wrenching decision you had to make.... but make it you did and Sambuca will surely take his rightful place at the table of valhalla... for while others talk of rainbow bridge, warriors, brave and true, go to Valhalla.

I am sure one day you will dine together again for you also, most certainly, have earned your place as a brave warrior. Letting go is not about giving up or giving in. Its about loving ENOUGH. I am hugging you in my head.xx

Thinking of you during this difficult time. It's so heartbreaking to lose our beautiful furbabies-you are a wonderful mom to Sambuca-you both shared a strong love. You gave him such a wonderful life-I am so very sorry for your loss.

Joan and Lily

Our beautiful Lily was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her front leg on 12/14/11 at age 8 and had amp on 12/16/11. She completed 5 rounds of carbo. She was so brave and kicked cancer's butt daily! She lived life fully for 4 years, 3 months, and 15 days after her amp. My angel is a warrior princess. I miss her so much.

Thank you for your thoughts. its been just over two weeks and it has been hard for all of us. I miss Sambuca something awful but I know in my heart it was time and I did the right thing by my Sam. Sometimes I feel kind of guilty because I don't feel guilty if that even makes sense. I do have a bit of an issue here at home if anyone could give some advice. Sambuca's sister is really depressed. We have three dogs now. The "boys" (4 year old brothers) are doing okay as they have each other. Isabelle however had her brother and now she doesn't. She is frantic when she doesn't see me and when I come home she is so grateful. She tries to sleep in my bed now because she used to sleep with her brother with her head on his butt. Has anyone dealt with a surviving dog who needs to get out of this rut? Any advice on this new issue would be great!!!

Nice to hear from you Amy. I kow it's still with a heavy heart that you're posting, but you also know no other souls understand like we do.

Sambuca let you know the time was right and you had the courage and depth of love to honor him with the greatest gift possible. You feel no guilt because there is none, amd that's validation frm Sam hi self that every thing happened as it should.superstar

Try and keep your energy upbeat with Isabelle and let her know yo are okay. Maybe you could do something fun that woild lift her spirits...smething different, out of the norm. Try and bring joy back into her day as I'msure yu are already doing.

I haven't read Admins inks' but it sounds like it'll really be helpful..When you can, update us on how she's doiing. We'd love to see pictures of your pack AND sweet Sambuca!! He willnever be forgotten by us! Quite the inspiratiom for all of us!

Love to all,

Sally and Happy Hannah
