Fergus crossed over the Rainbow Bridge yesterday. He had a good final week with lots of hugs, treats, snuggles and family time. He fought a courageous battle but I knew we couldn't bear to watch his tumor riddled front leg break. My heart is breaking and I miss him but I know it was the right decision. 2 months from the original diagnosis just was not long enough.
I took this photo yesterday morning. I believe Fergus (on the right) and Shamus both knew it was there final goodbye.
I know Fergus has regained his amputated leg and is running and playing with all of this fellow Tripawds. Thank you all for your support during this difficult journey.
Tara
Oh, I am just so incredibly sorry. Fergus was so loved and I know your heart is so empty. I hope that you find peace in knowing that you did everything for him.
The picture is precious. Tearfully precious.
My deepest condolences to you and your family.
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Awww, that's a heartbreakingly sweet picture. I'm so sorry that you had to say goodbye to your sweet boy. There's never enough time with our pups, and when cancer steals some of those precious moments, that makes it all the more difficult.
Give Shamus lots of hugs from us. We're thinking of you and your family.

Life is good, so very, very good!!! Gayle enjoyed each and every moment of each and every wonderful day (naps included). She left this world December 12, 2011 – off on a new adventure.
Love Never Ends
Wow...what a beautiful picture and so heartbreaking
Hugs to you and your family...Fergus is now running to his hearts content on four healthy legs!

Maggie was amputated for soft tissue sarcoma 10-20-09
Maggie lost her battle with kidney disease on 8-24-13
I'm so sorry it was time for Fergus to gain his wings. I love that picture. It is beautiful and heartbreaking. There is no amount of time that would ever be 'enough' with our sweet pups, but I'm so sorry you didn't get more time with Fergus.
Hugs to you and your family and to Shamus. Fergus was such a handsome boy and I bet he looks absolutely stunning with his wings.
Jackie, Abby's mom
Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tara,
I am sorry that Fergus' journey was so short, he was a beautiful and brave warrior to the end.
That picture is awesome and so filled with emotion.
You know you did the right thing for your boy yesterday, just as you have done through this cancer battle. I hope the good memories bring some amount of peace, and that soon you will smile more than cry when you tell others about Fergus.
Karen
Bless you for giving Fergus such a wonderful life, and thank you for sharing him with the Tripawds community. May he forever run free of pain and rest in peace at the Bridge.

What a sweet picture of your two boys. Breaks my heart at the same time. I am so sorry for your loss. I know how hard it is to give that final gift and send them on to the Rainbow Bridge. Sending you hugs,
Jenna & Spirit Chili Dawg
Diagnosed with OSA: 5/2/2011 Ampuversary: 5/11/2011 OSA returned in hip: 8/26/2011
Chili Dawg crossed the Rainbow Bridge on 8/30/2011 & is now pain free. He was my heart dog, and I miss him every day.
That has got to be about the cutest picture EVER. I am sorry for the pain you are facing. It is so hard to lose a tripawd cancer fighter. The day you make that commitment to them to amputate, you are on a parallel journey. Your life will change in ways you never imagined whether it is 2 months or 27. You are in my thoughts.
RIP sweet Fergus. Run free at Rainbow Bridge.
Shanna & Spirit Trouble ~ Trouble gained her wings 3/16/2011, a 27 1/2 month cancer survivor, tail wagging. RIP sweetheart, you are my heart and soul. Run free at Rainbow Bridge.
