Going Home: Finding Peace When Pets Die
[Image Can Not Be Found]I love Jon Katz…especially his book "A Good Dog"! I saw this article on Slate but just couldn't read it….it's been one of those kind of days…too many tears.. But I'm gonna try again..thanks for posting this.

Here's one of my favorite dog books, Dog Years by Mark Doty. Yes, it deals with death but there's a lot of hope in this book.

TATE ~ Forever in our hearts.
I'll check out that Slate review, although it looks very sad…
I read that Katz book (love that his name is Katz and he always writes about dogs). Oh, how I cried when I read that book! It was very good.
And, I have Dog Years sitting on my to-read shelf – along w/ Merle's Door and Inside of a Dog. And I need to finish the Boomer & Beezer book. Yes, I have a lot of dog books.
Maybe we should start a dog book club…

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!
