Hi! I also introduced myself over on the Facebook page, but the forum seems more active, so I joined. On Dec. 30th, I adopted a tripawd who I've named Bosco. Animal control had picked him up as a stray in August -- he was about four months old then and had been hit by a car. The Humane Society took him in and though they couldn't save his back leg (or his tail), he fully recovered and gets around great. He's now almost 10 months old and is full of puppy energy! When I was thinking over whether this was the dog for me, I read up on tripawds on your website and appreciated all the information to help me make my decision.
Here he is, out for a walk:
Oh, Bosco, you are a lucky boy! You have a wonderful family to love furever and you're not here because of cancer.

My heart goes out to you, riosmom, that your loss is so recent. I lost my previous dog, Scully, to cancer in September, after 14 years of her company. I still miss her terribly, but nothing was quite like the pain of those first days without her. I'm so sorry you're going through that.
Welcome Bosco and pack! You're very handsome! You look like a healthy, hoppy boy and we look forward to hearing more of your adventures.

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!

Welcome Bosco and pack,
You are awesome for adopting- and a Tripawd too! Some would think you took in a special needs dawg- but really what you got is a special dawg!
I'm glad you joined us here in the forums. Looking forward to hearing more about Bosco and his puppy adventures!

I would love a I-70 Tripawd Pawty!!! We could always post it in the forums...I think there is a section about Tripawd Parties too. If the weather keeps going the way it is and being so mild (knock on wood), we may not have to wait until spring!
Hugs and chocolate kisses,

She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.

Sure is! Right here, in "Tripawd Parties". Post there to get everyone's attention and start your planning. Making a Facebook announcement is also helpful.
As for you Bosco….you're just so darn adorable! Teresa, you are super super cool for adopting this special guy, thank you. What a fantastic way to kick off the year. We can't wait to hear more about your adventures together.
