On Dec. 30th, I adopted a tripawd who I've named Bosco. Animal control had picked him up as a stray in August — he was about four months old then and had been hit by a car. The Humane Society took him in and though they couldn't save his back leg (or his tail), he fully recovered and gets around great. He's now almost 10 months old and is full of puppy energy! When I was thinking over whether this was the dog for me, I read up on tripawds on your website and appreciated all the information to help me make my decision.

OfflineMy heart goes out to you, riosmom, that your loss is so recent. I lost my previous dog, Scully, to cancer in September, after 14 years of her company. I still miss her terribly, but nothing was quite like the pain of those first days without her. I'm so sorry you're going through that.

We ought to find out if there are any other tripawds in mid-mo and try to do a I-70 Tripawd Pawty. Charley's Mom is in St. Louis. I don't know if there are others close by.

I would love a I-70 Tripawd Pawty!!! We could always post it in the forums…I think there is a section about Tripawd Parties too. If the weather keeps going the way it is and being so mild (knock on wood), we may not have to wait until spring!

Comet - 1999 to 2011She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.

As for you Bosco….you're just so darn adorable! Teresa, you are super super cool for adopting this special guy, thank you. What a fantastic way to kick off the year. We can't wait to hear more about your adventures together.
