Thank you Sally - I think my main hesitation in completing the adoption was fear. I am sad to say the fear was for me more than her - fear of the pain if something went wrong with her remaining leg or with her health in general. Even though she is relatively young, she's had so many things that could cause health issues in the future. Her heart worm treatment, the fact that she still has *lots* of buckshot embedded in her body, and now the potential of something going wrong with her other rear leg.

But your story with Hannah and others here who have shared their journey - even the painful parts - gave me the courage to step up and ask to "foster fail" with her. I don't think any unknown adopter would care any more for her than I do. Unless a vet adopted her, I don't think anyone would give her any better medical care. She's been moved around *so* much in her short life - some of which we don't know about but even the last year she's been in about 5 or 6 different temporary situations.

She deserves some stability and to know this is finally HOME! Thank you all for helping me take this leap of faith and I am not leaving. I hope to stick around and encourage others and continue to learn.

Cindy & Dolly Momma aka "Baby girl " aka "?"

P.S. - now I know who to ask if I have any opossum questions - we have quite a few around here.
