********Drum Roll*********Image Enlarger

I have an announcement!  Dolly Momma is now a permanent member of our family! She is my (early) Mother's Day gift to myself.

While I appreciate the cute play on words of her rescue name, it's not really "me" and so I will be giving her a new name yet to be determined.  She will never again be a "Momma" and already her nickname is "Baby Girl".

Life has given her very few breaks and many hardships - my intent is to make up, if possible,  for those undeserved cruelties. She will be safe, and pampered and loved!

I just had to share this news with our Tripawd family!

Congratulations! Yay for foster failure!!!

What a lucky girl your "Baby Girl" is to be a part of such a loving family. I'm sure she already feels safe and pampered and loved will give you such joy in return.

Hugs,
Carol

Congrats!!! That's great news!~ She's one lucky girl

BTW - my nickname for Shelby was "baby girl" - I think it's a great choice and sounds really great when you say, "baby girl, mommy loves you very, very much" as I would to Shelby every day!

Hugs!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Congratulations to all of you :)

I was hoping this was going to be the case when the lovely "Baby Girl" went on the weekend trek to celebrate Easter with the family!

I love foster failures....especially in this case.

Cheers

Woot. Woot!!! Yay for both of you. What a wonderful Mothers Day gift to yourself.

Kathi and Murphy

Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!

UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!

PS. How about "Molly"? It sounds enough like Dolly that she wouldn't be confused by the name change and Baby Molly Girl would work.

Kathi - I love Molly but my friend's dog is named Molly - so I can't "steal" her name...  My kids will be home from college soon and we will all brainstorm - that's how we get the best names!

She is doing great!  She is off all of her meds - even the Gabapentin for phantom pain .  She even tried to chase an opossum off the patio the other night.  Fortunately, she was on a long leash for a potty break - but it made my heart sing to see her  take off after him.

Hoping for many happy, healthy years but have learned from all of you to treat each day with her as a precious gift.

I "rehabilitate" possums, I had one named Cuddles who couldn't go back to the wild. She shared myhome and her own outdoor possum "sanctuary" for three years. She loved macaroni and chesse and sleeping under the Christmas tree when the lights were on.

May have some names "possum related"...???

So glad she's with you. Once you have the privilege of being owned by a tripawd yor life is changed for the better i stantly!

Hugs to all!
