Yay, Novak. FOUR MONTHS! You rock.
Kathi and the Turbotail April Angel...and the Labradork
Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!
UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!
You have come a looooong way! Both of you!
HAPPY FOUR MONTH AMPUVERSARY NOVAK!! You really are an amazing pup, and so is your Mom!
I hope you got some special ground up treats and maybe a scoop of ice cream to help celebrate!! 🙂
Good job TEAM NOVAK!! 🙂
Hugs!
Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
I know there have been unanticipated challenges, but Novak has rocked the Tripawd transition in an incredible way. Happy 4 month ampuversary to you both!! To many, many more celebrations in the future!

On October 27, 2016, nearly 6 months after amputation, and 18 months since his cancer likely started, we lost Pofi to a recurrence of Soft Tissue Sarcoma in his spine quite suddenly. His canine sister also succumbed to cancer on March 1, 2019 - we lavished her with our love in the interim, but life was never quite the same without her only real canine friend. Cliff kitty had to leave us, too, suddenly, in August 2019. Lucia kitty grieved all these losses, but helped us welcome two new Lurchers into our home and our lives, Shae and Barley.
Happy 4 month! It's sweeter after all the challenges....keep it up you gorgeous hunk of dog!
paula and nitro
Nitro 11 1/2 yr old Doberman; right front amp June 2014. Had 6 doses carboplatin, followed by metronomic therapy. Rocked it on 3 legs for over 3 years! My Warrior beat cancer, but couldn't beat old age. He crossed the Bridge peacefully on July 25, 2017, with dignity and on his terms. Follow his blog entitled "Doberman's journey"
"Be good, mama loves you".....run free my beautiful Warrior
So happy for you and Novak. It's also a bit surreal thinking it would also be Milo's 4 month anniversary as one of Novak's amputation triplets. But we got hit by that stupod 40+, off the scale mitotic index. Cancer sucks! Instead of reading in my comfy leather chair with my good ole boy Milo at my feet, I have an incredibly cute, high energy, pretty girl Darcy begging for attention, and who may never let me read in my chair again.
I miss Milo. I will always miss Milo. Darcy will never be Milo. But Darcy is Darcy! I'm ok with that.
Sorry to babble about me, Milo, and Darcy, but Novak's ampuversary stirred thoughts. As hard as this road is, I'm glad I've travelled it. I'm blessed to have Novak, Ruby, and so many others travel with me. Milo and I got special time together - never enough time, but special, irreplaceable time - and now Darcy is working her way into my heart.
Go, Novak, go!
Go, Ruby, go!
Peace & Love,
Jenifer, Milo, and Darcy
Love you Jennifer! We are ALWAYS here for you and we love hearing "anything Milo"! I can only imagine the "shock", the FUN SHOCK of having a puppy around again! But you needed some joy back in your day and Milo knew that!
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Hoppy ampuversary Novak!
Otis - 106 pound lab/Dane mix, lost his right front leg to osteosarcoma on Febuary 9, 2016. Four rounds of carboplatin completed in April, 2016. Lung mets August 25, 2016. Said goodbye too soon on September 4, 2016. Lost his adopted sister, Tess, suddenly on October 9, 2016. likely due to hemangiosarcoma.
Wherever they are, they are together.
Thanks for everyone kind words. It would'nt be the same without this forum and all of you. Its ok to miss Milo, I almost went the same road as you just few weeks after the amputation and I CAN really imagine what you are going through.
Day to day life is pretty boring now, the routine is well installed and soon, the big work will begin. My first physiotherapy apointment is on dec 21 and Im very anxious to really begin the training so Novak can be himself again. I went to check his right front wrist cause he's bitting it since 3 weeks now, the fur is getting redish. The vet think its because is hurting a bit, weight not being normal, he's compensating on the right a lot, doesnt seem to have anything wrong, maybe a slight tendon inflammation. Will do an xray just to make sure, but she really thinks that physio will help him a lot. I know you all said it here and Ive been procrastiniting a lot, but Im getting there...
Thanks again for all your support!
