It's been nearly 5 years since we have gone through an emergency surgery with a pack member, but here we are again. The waiting is just making us nuts. Word just came in from the vets at Colorado State University Vet Hospital that Tripawds Spokesdog Wyatt Ray is getting anesthetized right now and surgery is about to begin.
We took him in on Monday because of a very strange lump that suddenly appeared at his amputation site. It was painful, inflamed and showed no signs of a foreign body, like a foxtail. His local vet couldn't figure it out. But after slicing it open while trying to diagnose it, she told us to hurry up and get it looked at by the CSU vets. Wyatt was admitted Monday with a gaping wound and has been waiting ever since. He kept getting bumped for more severe emergency cases, but now he's finally in the OR.
This waiting is just too reminiscent of what we went through in November 2006 when Jerry was diagnosed with osteosarcoma and it's making us nuts. We don't know what they'll find when they poke around in Wyatt's stump the needle aspirate biopsy did not show cancer cells, so that's a great sign.
We'll keep you posted. Till then, good thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Awwww.
It is scary. And we've been thinking a lot about him! BUT YAY for no cancer looking cells!
Stooopid life experiences makes us worry more especially if it resembles the past of something bad!
Let us know when he is out!
Lottsa good thoughts!
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Good thing we have pet health insurance this go-around! Let's just hope if it is a suture reaction they don't give us some "pre-existing condition" bull...
