Mac and Emily's harness was generously sent to Raven, but it's a smidge too tight for his 37" girth, right across his scar, so I am now offering it to another doggie in need.
Dawn and Raven
Rottie Raven, osteosarcoma at 8-1/2 years old, amputation in October '09 and in February '10 due to liver mets he went back to heaven where he came from. raven.tripawds.com
Now I have Miles, rottie mix amputee from a shelter and traveled 1500 miles to find his way here through the Rescue Railroad thanks to tripawds.com. miles.tripawds.com
You are so sweet Dawn, thank you. The Tripawd spirit just keeps getting paid forward. Beautiful.

Hi! Tripawd Koda's tail is wagging! I think it's b/c maybe he can finally have a special harness to help him around (it could also have something to do with that tennis ball he's mouthing).
Koda's a trim 60 lb Black Lab with a 30-31" girth. I just adopted him from the Humane Society today, and they tell me his rear right broken leg was amputated four months ago. He's just the happiest, sweetest guy in the world--but he could use a little help into our high van, and on wilderness outings. I wouldn't dare take him on trails without a harness.
I'm sure Koda would send you all generous kisses and licks if he knew what a nice thing you're offering.
Mac and Emily's harness might just be perfect and we'd be so grateful if Koda could use it. To find sweet Koda, and then this site, then the forum and now your offer, has just been blessing on blessing!
I got teary eyed knowing that someone was going to be able to use Mac/Emily/Raven's harness. Koda is so cute! You will not regret adopting a tripawd dog. He will be such a blessing to you and, yes, no cancer to worry about! My only suggestion would be to start Koda on a joing supplement like glucosamine chondrotin to keep his remaining joints healthy. My choc lab (four legs) takes them now, too. Glad to found tripawds. Did you notice that there is evev a whole section dedicated to dogs that don't have cancer issues? Keep us posted how your baby is doing!

Koda is adorable! I hope you are going to post a blog?
I am sorry to say that I just sent the harness to Suzi with Dharma, another rescue dog with an injury. And Yoda's Mom also showed an interest in it for a rescue tripawd she is fostering. But they both were not sure about fit. So, contact them to be sure that one of them keeps it, there's a chance it won't work for them. And this Very Special Harness has an agreement that it will circulate the Angel Exchange until the perfect home is found. 🙂
Also, I suggest putting a Want post on the forum so that others that have one, but just haven't brought themselves to a point of wanting to post it available yet , may respond to you directly with an offer.
I am looking forward to hearing more about Koda!

Hi Emilysmom! He's a blessing and a lovebug all rolled into one. We're taking your advice and getting him some glucosamine, and thanks for mentioning that forum! I hadn't noticed it, and checked it out on your suggestion!
Dawn and Raven, yup, he's got his very own blog now, "Koda's Pagoda"! Don't worry a bit about the harness, I hope it works out great for Suzi and Dharma, or Yoda's Mom! All tripawds are deserving, and I'm sure Koda's harness will come around. If not, we'll just have to keep saving up for one. We took your advice and posted a "want" topic too, just in case.
Thanks e'rybuddy
Thank you so much Debra and Dawn. If the harness does not work for Dharma I will of course be forwarding it along... I will post back here once I receive it and try it out. Dharma sends her thanks as well!
And I will go check out Koda's blog right now. Bless you for rescuing him!
Koda can be next in line after Dharma, if it doesn't fit. Gerry's amputation hasn't even been scheduled yet and I'm intrigued by the AST harness (I like the long loopy handles since Gerry isn't as tall as Yoda and I'm worried about an icy winter), so I may ask Santa for that one instead anyway. Good luck everyobody in getting harnessed up!

I am so glad that Dharma is using the harness and that it is a comfortable fit for her. Mac's Mom was so generous to send it to me and it blesses to me to know that someone is benefiting from it.

Wow, I just have to share how much easier transporting Dharma is with her harness. I don't know how we ever would have gotten along without one. We have even been able to increase the frequency of her training sessions. That handle is just awesome for getting her in and out of the car, around difficult obstacles, and just helping her with her balance in general. We had a very icy and snowy week here in Chicago and I would not have felt safe taking her anywhere if we did not have this harness. We even had an easy time getting her through the icy parking lot at the vet. And the harness will make her therapy work a safe and happy experience too. I know I keep saying this, but just one last time... THANK YOU!
