Hey everyone, Dr. Hohenhaus will be taking your questions either live on the air or when we read them to her. If you have questions for her, post them here as soon as you can. 30 minutes on the air goes by pretty fast and we can only do "first come-first served" questions.

I  have a 6 year old Rottie that underwent 4 doses of carboplatin and presented with low miotic indexes 3 hpf & metatzised after the 4th treatment (treatment plan called for 5) and in your opinion perhaps know what you know now about the metastisis of Sassy's spindle cell OSA, would a carbo/doxy protocol perhaps have been a better option?

Jerry & Admin feel free to rephrase this question that it makes sense :)

Can a chemo treatment with Vinblastine cause hyperactivity in a dog with a single mutation of the MRD1 (or is that MDR?) gene? The only other thing that has changed is diet going to grain free . He has no other side effects after 4 treatments except this. Hope that made sensesmiley. Forgot to add he also gets 25 mg of pred.

Spirit Shooter was a Miniature Australian Shepherd who was diagnosed with a MCT and had a LF amp 1/28/13 at 13-1/2 years old.

Shooter crossed the Bridge on 8/28/13, his 7 month ampuversary and two weeks from his 14th birthday.

Dr. Hohenhaus, our 12 yr old has 3 lung mets and has recently been diagnosed with hypertrophic osteopathy. What is you experience with biophosphonates and this secondary condition? Are there any medications/alternatives that you have found to be particularly effective with this condition? Thank you.

Thank you form your time.

My dog just completed four rounds of carboplarin for osteo. ---omco. Suggests that's the proven protocol now and five not necessary....that would must be _icing on tht cake". What do you say? Four? Five? Or even more?

I would second Sally's question regarding the amount of chemo treatment needed. I have my initial appointment with an oncologist in 10 days and would like to know if 6 sessions are necessary as I have read that some dogs seem to not do well after the fourth session.

Here is what Dr. H said:

"So glad I havent seen a hypertrophic osteopathy case in a while so cant comment on bisphosphonates , but I sure would try them.  They have very few side effects"
