Tripawds is excited to discuss animal behavior during veterinary amputation surgery recovery and care for cats and dogs!

Guest: Dr. Meredith Stepita, DVM Diplomate, ACVB, Encina Veterinary Hospital

Date: Sunday, October 6, 2013

Time: 6:00pm EST (3:00 Pacific)

Duration: 30 min.

Call In Number: (646) 716-5450*

Tune In Here: Veterinary Amputation Surgery Recovery and Care

Dr. Stepita is a board-certified Veterinary Behaviorist specialist for Encina Veterinary Hospital in Walnut Creek California.

Join us for an open discussion about life after amputation. We will discuss a variety of topics including:

  • post-op mental health for both pet and parent
  • suggestions for returning to normalcy after amputation
  • bringing home a new Tripawd to the pack
  • coping with the stress of cancer care
  • introducing a new Tripawd to other dogs

Dr. Stepita’s passion for behavior is due to the very special bond shared between human and pet. As a pet owner herself, she knows how important your pet is to you. She chose to become a board certified veterinary behaviorist after learning how many pets are unfortunately given away, rehomed or euthanized due to behavior issues. Dr. Stepita wants to change the statistics and help keep you and your pet together in harmony.

She says: “I decided to pursue veterinary medicine so that I could best help animals, and in veterinary school I discovered my passion for behavior. I am fortunate to have a very rewarding career, helping dedicated owners work through behavior problems with their pets and potentially save pets from relinquishment to shelters.”
