the monkeydogs only THINK they have invaded the tripawd state
Yes, Monkeybutt. Why don't you come here? Your Mom can get that Golden dog from L.A. (of course, only after it is airlifted to Edmonton and then deported to the U.S. of A. Did they sort all the logistical details out on the BLOGTALKRADIO?). Once that thing arrives, you will have a perfectly good excuse to flee the house and the country!

Jerry is busy trying to schedule our upcoming tripawd talk programs, including the next Meet the Mod Pawd show. But apparently, Tazzietoba is not interested.

Haha, pick on TazzieToba week, is it? I like that moniker, although I haven't lived here long enough to feel like a local. I'm interesting, in listening. I'm a good listener, well sometimes, well maybe once in a while.
We have an entire week of Festivale, dedicated to the Metis history of Manitoba, starting Friday. Good music (lots of Metis fiddle music) in unheated tents, dancing in parkas and sorels, lots of maple syrup, and lots of great ice sculptures.
From our friend Wiki:
Louis David Riel (22 October 1844 – 16 November 1885, pronounced /ˈluːiː riːˈɛl/ in English) was a Canadian politician, a founder of the province of Manitoba, and leader of the Métis people of the Canadian prairies.[1] He led two resistance movements against the Canadian government and its first post-Confederation Prime Minister, Sir John A. Macdonald.
Riel sought to preserve Métis rights and culture as their homelands in
the Northwest came progressively under the Canadian sphere of influence.
He is regarded by many as a Canadian folk hero today.
.. (skipping the bit about Riel going into exile in the U.S. after a controversial execution, at which time he was designated the 'father of manitoba')
Riel returned to what is now the province of Saskatchewan to represent Métis grievances to the Canadian government. This resistance escalated into a military confrontation known as the North-West Rebellion of 1885. It ended in his arrest, trial, and execution on a charge of high treason. Riel was viewed sympathetically in Francophone regions of Canada, and his execution had a lasting influence on relations between the province of Quebec and English-speaking Canada.
Whether seen as a Father of Confederation or a traitor, he remains one of the most complex, controversial, and ultimately tragic figures in the history of Canada.
