OK, I know some of youse guys just recently got together but....I'm gonna be in Wisconsin, visiting my 83 year old pops who moved there from California earlier this year to be with his new lady love. I would LOVE to meet up with anyone who has the time and inclination. I will be staying in a town called Baraboo, in south central WI. Can anyone get together on Sept 30/Oct 1? I have limited energy on any given day so would love to host a lunch at the condo I am staying at. Alternatively I can travel a little (no more than 2 hrs) to meet up with you but you would have to come up with a spot to meet. I know its not much notice so I totally understand if you can't get make it, but watcha all think?????

When even 1/6th of the Oaktown Pack comes to town you know it's gonna be a great pawty! Wish we could be there.

OH Martha! I'd have been there in a New York minute but I'm leaving on Sept 30th for a 10 day trip to the Gulf Coast. I so would have loved meeting you! I remember all the support I got from the Oaktown pack when starting this journey with Max and will always be so grateful to you! I'm going to text Paula and make sure she knows about this...maybe if she's not working those days she'll be able to make it. If something (like a hurricane) changes our plans I'll be sure to let you know! Now I'm sad I'm going to miss you!! Enjoy your visit with Pops and tell him to hold on because I'm guessing our winter will come as a shock to his California system 😉.
Hugs from a very sad Linda 😥
Hey Martha! I'm off that weekend, and am thinking about driving to meet you! I'm looking for a co-pilot to join me, so I'll let you know.

I would concur what Karen said !! Martha is definitely one of kind and worth making the drive! Jasper and I love seeing her every time we travel up north to the Northern CA pawty (along with all our other amazing friends ... Karen included)! XO

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
Lindaaaaa! I am so sorry you won't be around but happy you will be on vacation. At least I hope its a vacation, given recent events in parts of the Gulf Coast! I kind of planned this trip at the last minute so next time will be sure to provide more advance notice because I really want to meet you someday
Paula, that would be so awesome if you find you can come, but don't stress if you can't, I understand. Did I mention you can bring your puppers if you like?
I meant to invite Bri (Spirit Yoda and Gerry'sMom) but forgot to send a dm (she is not on the site regularly) when I made this post so I am going to do that right now! I am hoping she can come!
Rene, Karen and Alison, geez you guys, you are making me !

I would bring the pups, am looking at possible meeting places, maybe an hour from you, and and hour from me?

Yes it is a vacation. Going to Cruising the Coast week in Ms Gulf coast area. But still sad to be missing you. I hardly ever have much going on but wouldn't you know the one time I do.......😉 Well here's hoping you'll be able to visit Pops again in the near future and next time I'll have a clear calendar. Hopefully you and Paula can work something out and Bri too! You'll get to meet puppy Grizz ❤️ and patient Kodi! Such cuties! Have a great time ladies!
That should work Paula. Is Saturday or Sunday better for you? I finally got a PM off to Bri this evening. I have been having difficulties with that all week! It was acting like there was no such member! Last I knew she is in Madison. So lets see if she can make it and take it from there. I guess Madison is about an hour or less from Baraboo. So maybe we can triangulate and meet somewhere that would be relatively equidistant for all of us. And yes, I flunked Geometry in high school so someone else will have to do the triangulating
Linda, that sounds fabulous, have a wonderful trip!!

Really either day works....if we do Sunday I might be able to get my husband to ride with me (or maybe not, lol). I'm not super good with triangulating either but I'll work on it. Let me know if one day works better for you and Bri

If I'm not mistaken, Fond du Lac looks like a good place for a 3 way half way meeting place. I'd guess there is a park there somewhere where we could meet.

Hey Paula,
How about meeting in Waupun? Its a little bit closer to me, a little bit further for you but still under 1.5 hrs for you. It looks like a sweet spot (smaller and easier to navigate than Fond du Lac)! There is an apple orchard/bakery (hey, where's the drooling emoji?). A County Park. And a Nature Center. Not sure if Tom Dooley's has anywhere to sit (a must for me!) but I will call them and see. I am tending towards the Nature Center, there is a picnic area and several short trails through different habitats (dogs allowed on leash), and its just down the road from the apple orchard--what do you think?
xoxo,
Martha

Waupun sounds good, which day? What time? How exciting! The Nature center sounds good

I just realized I am not sure I ever asked my pops if I could borrow his car! I will do that today and see if he needs it one day or the other. I don't expect it to be a problem. Also I have not heard from Bri yet so if she gets back to me that may also have a bearing on which day. As for time, I am thinking noon? We could do a BYO picnic if that appeals.
