Howldy everpawdy!
We couldn't resist the opportunity to pawty with Tripawd Warrior Princess Abby and Bernie Bin Laden and his sidekick Linda during our Southern California visit....
So on Wednesday, 1/11 at 11:00 AM, we are getting together at Abby's hangout on Fiesta Island's Dog Beach and hope that you can make it too!
Come see the action as Tripawds Spokesdawg Wyatt Riot Ray Dawg and that crazy terrorist Berrnie Bin Laden hold a duel for the attention of one beautiful Tripawd Warrior Princess!
Yeah, it's gonna be a riot. And yes, it's a weekday but that's cause BBL's Pops is out there protecting and serving on weekends and this was when he and BBl's Momma could meet up. So hey, why not make this an official howliday for the entire country so we can ALL get it off?
More details to follow but this is what we know now. We hope to see you there!

I can't wait!!! And Abby is super excited to have two handsome boys fighting for her attentions. (Goodness, her head is already so swelled up... She's going to be impossible after this!)
Here are some basic directions to get there - take 5 South to the Sea World Drive exit and take the right fork of the exit ramp. Make the first right, which will curve around almost in a U. Make the first immediate left, which will take you on to Fiesta Island. You have to loop around to the back side to get to the fenced dog park area. The rode makes you loop around to the right at first, then about 3/4 of a mile or so along, you'll take the left fork and then start looping around to the left. You'll see the bay on your right hand side. Once you see the chain link fencing on your right, pull in and park there. We could meet up right inside the fence there. (Sometimes cars get broken into here - which is a bummer, but I've never had a problem. Don't leave valuables out in the open in your car.)
Hope folks can meet up even though it's a Wednesday. Bring water for your pups.
I hope Abby will be nice. She likes other dogs - except when toys are involved. 🙂
Oh boy oh boy!

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Wow, that sure sounds like fun! I asked mom if we could go, but she said she has to work. I really wish I could be there Abby, because while the terrorist and the riot were acting a fool, you and I could be sharing kisses on a blanket in the sand......
Ranger
Sadie is my 9yr old Rott/Shepherd mix. Diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her right scapula 1/28/10. Our brave girl had her amputation 2/13/10 and her last chemotherapy on 6/6/10. Unfortunately, a tumor appeared in her back right leg and on 10/7/2010 Sadie's earthly journey came to an end. On 10/24/2010 we adopted Ranger, a handsome Rott/Lab mix tripawd (got hit by a car) I think Sadie sent him to us.

Oh, Ranger... You do know how to sweet talk a girl!
I wish you could come too! I hope I get to meet you some day. You look like a good kisser. 😉
KISSES,
Abby

We are hopeful that Abby will still definitely be able to make this date. She had a good time today at Fiesta Island, so hopefully she'll be up for it on Wednesday. We'll see how she is once the prednisone starts to kick in. And if the prednisone isn't kicking in, well, there's nothing like kisses from cute boy dogs to make a girl feel better.
Fingers and paws crossed!

Hi guys - i was looking at the tides today and it is going to be high tide at 10am. on Wed, so I am thinking we should meet on a different side of FI. (The bayside by the main parking lot doesn't have a lot of room to walk along the water at high tide - and even though there is the whole massive field to walk around, Abby prefers to be down by the water so she can keep cool.)
So I think it's better to meet at another parking area about maybe 1/4 to 1/3 mile past the main parking. That way we can still be by the water (it's a different part of the bay called "Hidden Anchorage") where usually even at high tide it is easier to walk.
When you see the main parking area (just a big dirt area) by the fencing on your right hand side, keep going a bit further. Once you see water again and the fence running out, that is where you want to park. I'll try to get there a little early, so you should see my old, blue Ford SUV. If you do get there before me, park along the fence and go right at the water's edge. We can meet up along the water there.
I hope this isn't super confusing. We went today and Abby did really well, walking much farther than I thought she'd be able to. Keeping fingers crossed that she'll be good to go on Wed.

Good to know Jackie, thanks! I didn't even think of checking the tides, landlubber that I am.
Ok, we'll meet there. Look for a silver Dodge 4x4 truck with a big dent on the right rear, and a psychotic dog barking his head off. That'll be us.
Glad to hear she did well today! Paws and fingers crossed this keeps up.
