Calling all Tripawds! Just a reminder...we are looking for all of our friends to contribute a favorite picture to add to the storyboard for the Dog Days Festival in Buffalo, NY on June 23-24, 2012. We have already received several gorgeous photos and can't wait to start working on this part of our display.
If you would like to be represented in this gallery of Stars ...please email me a (jpeg) photo (or two) and just a few lines about your Tripawd. If you would, please use the subject: "Tripawd Photo" so I know it is IMPORTANT!
My email address is KViz@aol.com.
Thank you!!
Am sending pictures NOW... before I forget again...

I would love to send a photo of Comet but I feel like she wouldn't represent tripawds very well since her leg was attached - but deformed. And to an outsider maybe they wouldn't understand that she had to hop through life?
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Comet NEEDS to be part of our wall of stars. She represented Tripawds as well as anyone!! Please send a picture...we want her with us.
Anyone who goes looking at our picture board just for missing legs....WILL BE MISSING THE POINT!!
And we will toss them out! Or maybe just ignore them.
And we welcome stars from all over. Join us Kayla! The Tripawd Nation knows no borders!!

I could not agree more!! Comet walked on three legs just the same as the other pups. I would be disappointed if her picture wasn't there.
I also think it is important for people to see that dogs who are born that way are just as deserving and capable of adoption and a full life as those dogs that we were already attached to and chose to amputate to further their life.

Zeus was a Husky mix diagnosed with Osteosarcoma at age 11. A visible lung met and suspicious spot on his liver meant a poor prognosis-six weeks was our vet's best guess. We decided to fight for our boy and his right front leg was amputated on 12/1/11. We did six rounds of chemo, changed his diet and spoiled him completely rotten. We were blessed with 10 great months after diagnosis. Against the odds, the lung met remained a single met and grew very little over those months. A wonderful furbaby with the most gentle spirit, he fought with a strength that we never imagined he possessed. We have no regrets...

yes, comet was a tripawd warrior princess while many of our pups were still sparkles in their dad's eye.

Life is good, so very, very good!!! Gayle enjoyed each and every moment of each and every wonderful day (naps included). She left this world December 12, 2011 – off on a new adventure.

Awww. Now I'm weepy eyed! I'll send in Comet's pic!
I just sometimes feel like someone might say - "hey that dog isn't three legged!". I always felt people gave me funny looks and felt like they were thinking: what a horrible person to let that dog walk around with a leg that looks like it can be fixed. At the vet's office EVERY TIME at least one person in the lobby would say, "oh, I hope they can fix her leg - what happened to it?".

Bwhahahhahahahahhahaha! There's always a first!

Of course we all want Comet there! (but angel Abby says no monkeybutts should be allowed to sneak in to the photos!)

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!
Uh oh, Jackie, I sent Monkeybutt pictures, too!!! Sometimes, you can't take a photo without the MB's sneaking in...
And Ge' you HAVE to send a picture of Comet!!! It's not Tripawds without her! You know that if anybody dis's our Comet, Pegz will bite 'em in the leg. Right, Karen?!
