I've heard there have been Tripawd parties here in Los Angeles/Southern California and even though I am no longer a physical mom to a Tripawd (I will ALWAYS be a Tripawd mom in my heart and soul), I would love to help organize or work with anyone putting on an event anywhere South of Los Angeles (up to San Diego) and north (probably up to Santa Barbara since I know there is a huge pack in Northern CA that does great work.
Anything to raise awareness, support, inspiration, hope and FUN! I've got some relaxed summer hours and work and I can't think of a better way to spend my time! I've got connections with local vets that would help promote (I think). I don't really have any media contacts anymore but I might be able to locate a peer that could possibly get the word out to our local ABC affiliate that does a lot of pet/dog charity work.
Just throwing it out there...

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
Great idea Alison. I am sure Rene can help you out with flyers etc.

This is awesome, thank you for heading this up. I'll help get the word out via social media. Keep coming back here to bump the topic so people know you want to do this. Yay!

Alison,I'd love to join you! I'm in the Los Angeles area, too. But, like you, although I will always be a Tripawd mom, my Tripawd is no longer physically with me, either.
I wonder if there are any fairly local members who could bring their Tripawds.
xoxo

How did I not know you were in LA too!?!? Yes! I know there is at least ONE Tripawd in my neighborhood who lost his leg to being hit by car so I could approach them. I am sure Shelby's vet who did her amputation would put the word out there too.
I'll try and figure out a good / central location and start planning! YAY! XOXO

Yes, I'm right here in the LA area. If a big party doesn't happen for whatever reason, maybe we can still meet up and celebrate the lives of our Tripawd baby girls!
I think there was a So Cal party when Willow was alive, but I didn't go because she Hated (yes, with a capital H) other dogs. There may have even been one after she died, but I think I felt strange going. But not anymore. You said it right, Alison, I'll always be a Tripawd mom at heart. And I'm still so proud of Willow!
